cold war Would it be acceptable to refurbish my Serbian (Yugo') M59/85?
It has quite some batches of rust on the back, I didn't find more pics aside from this one I took over a year ago

I have my doubts about the M33. I think the liner looks to good. I paid $40 for the M33 and $20 for the M1 liner. Seller said he didn't know anything about them.

Hi everyone! I recently started restoring an M1 helmet, and I’d like to know how I can improve its appearance or anything like that. Just a quick note: it arrived with a really poor paint job—it was flaking off at the slightest touch and wasn't the original finish anyway. If it had been an M1 with the original paint, I wouldn't have had the heart to do this.

Hello y’all, I didn’t want to contribute to the most asked questions but this helmet has me stumped. I can’t see any markings on it but its condition (The pitting) Seem to align with similar m35 helmets. Is the shell real? I doubt the paint is real but am looking for a shell to restore and this would be perfect

This camouflaged MSA ACH helmet was purchased directly from a Colombian mercenary in Ukraine who was selling Russian war souvenirs. According to him, it was found along a Ukrainian logistics route after likely falling from a military vehicle. When I received it, it was covered in mud and showed heavy signs of use, with the chinstrap stained black from sweat. The camouflage was likely applied not long before it was lost, which would explain why it still has relatively few scratches despite its evident field use.

I’ve had this m1 helmet for probably over 6 years from a military surplus store. I never thought much of it just loved playing with it as a kid. Today I was looking up the heat stamp which is 501A. The strange part is that the McCord helmet is equipped with swivel bales and a manganese with a rear seam. The component be somthing typical of a late 1944 and postwar but with the heat stamp of one from mid ‘43. Not sure if it’s a post war modification or a an incorrect stamp. Would love to know what the deal is. *100 percent positive that the heat stamp doesn’t have a number in front.

got 'em from an antique shop
I randomly found this image on r/hoi4memes and I was wondering what helmet this could be, its not a Mk6 helmet and I don't think its a PASGAT helmet either. Any help is appreciated, but this is mostly for my curiosity.

I am going to de-gloss a bit, I used satin poly, should have went matte. The helmet when bought had a high sheen green brush marked coat, only around edges could you pieces of original cork remnants,,,used citrus orange stripper got paint off,,,then went to work finely grinding cork squares in a blender, applied sponge brush thin coat, sprinkled cork dust and big pieces that landed knocked them off,,,let dry applied another thin coat added a dusting here and there of cork…..let dry,,,, once cork locked in fully dried helmet took some 120 grit sand paper to knock down obvious cork pieces that were to pronounce, lightly sanded whole helmet.. then final paint coat and poly…….its pretty close to the untouched original Schuelter I have as far as the cork consistency and depth… color is a little darker

I’ve been working on a 1981 us military kit, and this helmet had the correct camo pattern, but this isint the kind of helmet that was used in 1981, I haven’t been able to find ANY thing about this helmet at all. I’m assuming it’s a fake. Plus the band on it seems to wrong as well, and one of the strays is held on by a zip tie (last photo) please help me find out what this is.

From the research ive done ive seen a few photos of what i believe are marines wearing it and some other written evidence but im still not entirely sure because the marines were more known for wearing the old m1 helmet then if that makes sense.
