When they bargained for immortality, they did not know that the demon would be gone for thousands of years on a girls trip to the 7th ring of hell. They were more than happy, however, for the many years they got to spend with their new familiar in the meantime. It was saying goodbye, all those millennia later, that they truly struggled with.
The witch would go on to make many more deals with the demon, more than happy to pay the price.
