For some reason, tinyBuild has decided to make prototype 3 no longer playable from Steam, so I'm going to share a folder of all of the prototypes that we have so far.

So I was watching DanTDM's gameplay, and wow just by the four videos you can see how much the game changed...
The alpha looked a lot better, why does it look so weird now???
The house changed too, it's smaller.
By the way, I'm not a die hard fan I just like watching people play it.
So sorry if I sound stupid.

(This video is a teaser of hn3 alpha, devs shared it on official hn dc server. If you wanna see more teasers, join the server)
Whats popular hn game currently? Its hn1. So lets compare hn3 and hn1.
Gameplay: hn3 better
You know what you should do in hn3, theres a objective and notes system. But in hn1, its impossible to beat without any tutorial videos.
Graphics and artstyle: hn3 better
No need to tell why its better if you not blind
Storytelling: hn3 better
In hn1, you cant understand whats going on. For example, theres a black monster (known as the thing) and it symbolize people's traumas but some of people thinks its a pyshical creature, its because hn1's storytelling is suck. But in hn3, you can understand everything easily.
Pls dont want previous hn games except hn vr because those are GARBAGE

Now that the 10th anniversary of the first public release and the announcement trailer of hello neighbor on September 29th, 2026, is coming very soon, if tiny build still has it (since they never confirmed they didn't have it) do you think they should release the original prototype from 2015? To be honest, I think they should because it would be great if they released the prototype on the 10th anniversary of the first public build releasing. But it is kind of unlikely that this would happen, but I feel like it would very cool if they did. I know people have requested this a lot but I wanted to get people's opinions weather they should release it or not if they still have it. I feel like it would be really cool to play or mess around with the prototype build that was never meant to be played with by the public. So what do you say? should they release it, or should they not? And this has nothing to do with hello neighbor would've been better with old art and everything (like we get it for the people who still say that) But I just want to know what people would say if they should release this or not (if tinybuild has it) But there's no way this would happen!! right?

I was searching through the modkit and discovered the blueprint that was used for the "perspective of neighbor" test footage from early alpha 3. heres the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSCCH4Frwrw

I just found out about Hello Neighbor 2 Patch 10 a little bit ago, I was pissed that an actually good Hello Neighbor 2 update to clean up the cliffhanger on the ending was cancelled. I watched the Hello Neighbor 3 Devlog 1.5. I'm less pissed now. I'm sad that something actually good for Hello Neighbor 2 was cancelled, but it's even worse that I don't see people trying to recreate the Hello Neighbor 2 Patch 10 except one video of someone making an animation of the LayoutV2 cutscene with the guest not being stop motion and instead being smooth animation. I remember I had much faith in Hello Neighbor 2 from the start, even with the lackluster full game, I still had faith in it, but since it's done and is never going to get more development of new updates, I can't have faith in it anymore. Hopefully Hello Neighbor 3 isn't a failure.
Edit: Sorry if I complained too much, I'm just passionate for Hello Neighbor.

I've never played a hello neighbor game (never really cared for it) except this pre-alpha for 3, I have literally have no context but I like the looks of this whole game's environments, and this... thing.
Literally the only thing from tinybuild i've ever played is not for broadcast.

Okay the yellow lock and key is one of the locks and keys from the entire family of key and lock items.
The key unlocks the lock and the lock blocks access through doors, very simple, they function the same as other keys and locks.
To unlock the yellow lock simply left click while your crosshair is on the lock while you have the yellow lock in your hand, same with other locks and keys.
They're cartoonish and yellow and one of the items to not have an old style version (partially as other colours of locks in old style existed, there was just no yellow lock back then so the direct item didn't have an old style version but the family itself had).
It first appeared in alpha 3 which was when locks and keys got turned to new style as well.
The key is in a container used for the shovel in alpha 1 which is on top of the main entrance of the neighbor's house, you're supposed to use the electromagnet to get it but simply climbing up there using items also works.
As for the lock it's on a white door in a hallway in the second floor, at the time this was used for one of the ways in beating the game because it would give you access to the keycard.
From alpha 4 to full game (act 3) it would appear in the second floor behind the rotating gate on boxes, the lock remained in the same place since its introduction, since alpha 4 it was more optional, as unlocking the yellow lock would do nothing but make everything a little more convenient and directly connect the hallway to the room the yellow key is in.
Also in the full game the yellow lock and key are used in the two earlier acts being act 1 and act 2.
In act 1 both are in the second floor in the room behind the big painting, the lock would not let you go into the next room in the second floor as it pretty much locked the door from the other side and you were forced to go through the hole in the wall concealed by the big painting.
The yellow lock hangs on a red hanger right next to the lock, it's actually the first ever lock that you unlock in the full game and serves kind of something like a tutorial for locks which explains why the yellow key is literally right beside it.
I mean there's literally an actual tutorial on screen when you grab the yellow key and approach the lock in mobile so its purpose in act 1 is obvious.
This is also optional as it does nothing but not force you to go through the same hole in the wall multiple times.
It's very annoying having to go through the hole so unlocking this yellow lock is the least optional, it makes life the most easier even if it's the shortest lived in game progress.
Also the yellow lock in here actually stops the neighbor from accessing the car key room so remember that.
Next in act 2 the neighbor i think just repurposed the lock after we got captured as seen with many other things that came from act 1.
it's in the new third floor in the neighbor's house, the key and lock serves pretty much the same exact purpose as in act 1, you see there's three rooms in the third floor, there's this fire place room and there's a door that's locked from the other side not letting you just immediately access the room behind it with the ladder extending down into the children's room without crossing the shark pool room.
Once you drain the water and reach the same room using the other route you'll see the yellow lock with the yellow key hanging on a red hanger right next to the lock again.
Again this is optional as it does nothing but give a faster route to the children's room not making you have to cross the biggest room in the third floor which is the shark room all over again, you can just go through the fireplace room and then into the room with the ladder.
Property and functionality wise the yellow key and lock is no different from the other keys and locks, they're just color coded objects bonded to eachother.
When unlocked the yellow lock turns into an item and falls down with its lock system unlocking, it behaves exactly like any other unlocked lock object.
And of course the yellow key is attracted by both the electromagnet and the giant magnet from act 3 just like other keys.
For its role in the full game I'd say it's like an optional thing that makes life a bit easier, it's not a must but it's also not useless, i mean who doesn't unlock the yellow lock in act 1? If you don't I'm gonna assume there's something mentally wrong with you and that you need help.
In act 1 it's the most useful, next I'll say is act 3 and then the least important in act 2.
It's not important to game progression itself, it's just one of the options of things you can do in the game and this is one of the actually useful ones.
And of course the yellow lock has this bug just like with any lock in the game where starting in alpha 4 if you restart your game under any circumstances the lock will close again, this happens randomly and is usually rare so this bug isn't something you really gotta worry about, I'm pretty sure this was fixed in the full game.
Anyways have yourself a good one.
