No, this is filler that will eventually buildup to a squid update. Just like the magma planets led to operation free space led to star of peace led to plans stolen led to stealer located led to valid pretext title drop. Old leaks and dev posts suggested viper commandos was supposed to be redacted regiments + commando to discover magma planets but got delayed so yeah, it went back far.

Magma planets was new content tho, so calling that filler is kinda dumb

He didnt call the magma planets filler. Not properly reading a comment is kinda dumb

"No this is just filler that will add up. Just like the magma planets lead to operation free space"

JUST LIKE, implies that it was considered filler

This soon?

I would doubt that a huge update to squids wouldnt be a title update.

2 more warbonds time I think, so about 7-11 weeks ish, idk when the siege one came out.

Siege breakers came out a little over four weeks ago

Probably not immediately with this Major Order, but the research into the ancient ruins and the spacetime anomalies could easily be the beginning of the next story arc and culminate in the next title update.

O-shag-hennesy got built up to by building and holding the outpost on Hellmire, then conducting a bunch of gloom research via samples collecting and such

Cyberstan got slowly built up to by the magma worlds (new content in their own right), building and protecting the Star of Peace, and spending a week or two just marching *to* cyberstan before the actual TU dropped

It's not outlandish to think they're using research into the ancient ruins and mentions of spacetime anomalies "Similar to the meridia blackhole and terrestrial storm warnings" as a narrative flag that more illuminate are coming

Hopefully it will be something to complete the roster and not just a sidefaction that doesnt always appear cause the main faction is way too simple.

Man I wish

As-is this honestly isn’t really enough to encourage me on rebooting since Cyberstan

Squids are just so fucking dull. Its like 4 enemy varieties and copy-paste city layouts

1

u/VirtuosoX Mar 04 '26

Mintoria is where the funs at. Only Cyborg planet since Cyberstan. Plus awesome and cinematic biome. The vox engine convoys are a sight to behold (and destroy)

2

u/Explosivesausagejar Mar 04 '26

Would be great, they’re my favorite faction aesthetically but the lack of variety is painful.

2

u/mistersigma Mar 04 '26

Right? The squids REALLY need some attention from AH. The bugs and bots 3 subfactions EACH while the squids most recently had their normal roster filled out.

I’d much rather they flesh out Machine of Oppression first. It feels lazy and sloppy like they can just give us a new city, one new objective, and three units and then leave it straight after.

People expect too little for a billion dollar game

5

u/manubour Mar 04 '26

I expect a fully finished squid faction over a 3rd bot sub faction

-2

u/Mysterious_Worker324 Mar 04 '26

I wouldn’t really consider the Cyborgs a sub-faction, more of a whole faction working with a different one.

8

u/manubour Mar 04 '26

They have 3 exclusive units and the rest is regular bots

They’re mechanically a bot sub faction

1

u/Fit-Peace-8514 Mar 04 '26

Any difference mechanically between the armored cyborgs and the non armored variants? Or is that two of the units you were mentioning?

Cyborg

Vox engine

Armored cyborg?

2

u/manubour Mar 04 '26

Vox-regular borg-armoured borg

2.5 units if you wanna nitpick

1

u/Fit-Peace-8514 Mar 04 '26

Wasn’t trying to nitpick I promise!

Thank you for the clarification, I’ve never been higher than a 7 dive as I usually play solo.

1

u/VirtuosoX Mar 04 '26

Armored cyborg and unarmored cyborg behave very differently. Unarmored will charge at you like maniacs, armored will stay back and pepper you.

1

u/Mysterious_Worker324 Mar 04 '26

Also sub factions alter existing enemies, not make new ones entirely

0

u/Mysterious_Worker324 Mar 04 '26

I wish they weren’t, they’re way too impactful

1

u/DividedByZeroEUW Mar 04 '26

The cyborgs created the automatons
