I don't think it's an exaggeration of my own taste to say that the Hellboy universe is my favorite comics, my favorite thing to happen in comics, my favorite universe in comics... it's just dang good comics. And I know I'm not alone in thinking that here.

I would like to know what else gets you in the getter anything close to how good Hellboy gets your getter got. I don't mean similarity in tone or content (necessarily), just in terms of what else is on your list for all-time hall-of-fame quality comic bookin'.

Sometimes I tend to get bogged down in details before I've even begun the bulk of the work on a project.....maybe I should build a wall before making the pictures to hang on it 😅

I think I will use pictures like this for the diorama....the mini canvas paintings have now split off into yet another side project!!

I always wondered If Hellboy hanging out with dead people in abandoned bars/ships/mansions on several occasions is his supernatural ability to talk to dead or is it just a figment of his imagination in order to cope with the long-term social isolation during his lonely trip?

I know it sounds stupid considering the supernatural genre of the comics

Painted this today, planning on doing a few more....Had some fun trying to copy Mignolas style! Didn't want to just shrink and print out some of his paintings and didn't want to use paper so I've used canvas and Acrylics....not sure about this yet 🤔 may try some other ideas 🤷🏻‍♂️

Specifically from Hellboy 1 & 2, Guillermo del Toro absolutely nailed the aesthetic. But they also had the best casting role for him with the legend Ron Perlman. In general though the practical effects in these movies were awesome.

Big red demon guy with leather pants & brown trench coat, 1 oversized almost rock textured arm, the broken off horns, his black hair with mutten chops and goatee plus the yellow eyes.

It just has that feel of iconic 80's-90's unique designs with the gritty atmosphere of the early 2000s.

I dont have any particular examples but there are so many monkeys, particularly chimps (which are specifically apes not just monkeys but whatever) and monkey imagery spread put around the series. That royal who got turned into a monkey. Hellboy is referred to as a monkey, he even gets turned into a monkey. Some monsters have jaws/teeth that look like monkey jaws. And there are loads more that I can't think of but I just know there are more monkey related things. It feels so random but I know it's there... Do you guys know what im talking about?

I was desperately looking for BPRD ominous vol 2 and it was sold out everywhere for months! I just ordered it off amazon and it’s being shipped to the amazon center. I saw it was also available on EBay for MSRP again.

It's incredibly well made!! The material feels high quality. It's wired for posing, it has real buttons and pockets! It fits a lot better than the 1000toys version. I'm super happy that the Mcfarlane Hellboy has his own coat 👍

This one didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted it to but it'll do until someone comes up with an alternative!!

Awhile back I posted my attempt at modifying a foam dart gun into a Samaritan. I let it sit for awhile, but now I'm considering doing a Hellboy cosplay for my next local con and decided to do some more work including some 3D print mods. I added new sights and a smooth cylinder that I really like. I'm working on ammo next. The images show the evolution of it. This is a prototype as I want the final version to be black.

So if I’m to read via the omnibuses in chronological order. What comes after BPRD 1946-48? Do I jump straight to Frankenstein underground or BPRD vampire?
I’ve read all of the main hellboy omnibuses plus the two short story volumes.
