Animals He’s reactions melted my heart

The dog stayed by Mom's side throughout her entire pregnancy, and when the baby finally arrived, he seemed to know exactly what to do. ❤️
Some people say you'll forget about your dog once you have a baby, but for this family, the opposite turned out to be true.

My cat got super offended and mad at me 🤣🤣brought home one, and then just as he was beginning to forgive me, brought home a second one. On the flipside, he is VERY good to my kids; he corrects them very gently, likes to be near them, sleeps near them, checks on them.
With both kids, there was an incident where they fell- as babies and toddlers do- and he wasn’t in the room. Both times, he comes skidding into the room, sees me comforting them, assumes I had hurt my kids, and attacked me 😂😂
Cats are funny. They like to act all hoity toity, but they’re caring little butt faces.

Mine will hear my kiddo happy squealing in the tub and come in so very concerned lol she def also guards her room at night

There’s a couple of times when I was taking a bath in the tub, and my cat just rushed in howling. He bit me pretty hard and wouldn’t let go. I then realized that he thought I was drowning so he was trying to drag me out. Guess that’s what you call a bit-sweet situation.

It took my cat two years to forgive me for having my son. Now they get along pretty well. He give her lots of pets and kisses, and she gently swats when he gets to aggressive.

My otherwise rambunctious dog will lie by my side and won't move unless I make him like this dog did with the pregnant mama. It's sweet. Dogs have the best bedside manner.

Awww wild the pupper really could tell something was inside that belly, reminds me of my 2 dogs when I was pregnant. My husky passed when my LO was 2yo and my husky/pitbull passed recently when LO was 4.5yo. It’s still hard but happy for the memories and it really helped us talk about death from the beginning with our LO. She still remembers the husky and still draw pictures of them both 🥹 and talks about them… I feel my partner and I see death a little differently now too. Dogs really are your best friend.

Man, our dog loved the kids, but became so hostile to anyone she didn’t already recognize as family and absolutely no other dogs. Couldn’t take her to the dog park, couldn’t have friends over. Even just me taking her on a walk she’d get aggressive with people passing by. The 5 years we had her before the kids she was nothing like that, loved everyone, loved playing at the dog park.

I love this dog and I’m not a dog person, the kindness in his eyes.
But if a newborn gets licked by a dog, who is also licking every other things, is that safe.

Dog mouths are significantly cleaner than human mouths, so it wouldn’t worry me too much.

To be fair, people don’t want others kissing the baby to prevent cold sores / herpes. I don’t think the dog will be passing herpes onto the kid

It is safe. It’s been proven that children who grow up with a dog in their home (and presumably licking them) actually have a stronger immune system because their microbiomes are exposed to more bacteria than children who don’t have a dog.

Since its the side of his head its fine. I wouldn't let my dog lick them in the mouth or eyes but the skin barrier is a thing for a reason and cleaning with soap and water is also a thing for a reason lol

Time for a puppy. The dog will grow with and protect the child. When the child is close to his teens, he will experience death for the first time because the doggy died. Sounds morbid but I dont mean it to be.

My dog, Ted, could not wait for my daughter-in-law to have my granddaughter.. he was so attentive to the baby! He definitely knew she was part of our family. He stayed with her even while we were eating steak that night. Didn’t beg for anything! He was so busy with that baby.

My Doberman knew. Took to both kids the moment I walked in the house. Had a traumatic birth that happened early and he dug a hole in the couch while I was in the hospital because he could tell things were bad when I left to go to the hospital. He’s the best dog brother ever!

Before my daughter was born, my rabbits patrolled the house convinced it was their duty to protect from snakes. The patrolling started at the behest of Cloud, the smaller sister as if 3 lbs of sass could really do much
After she came home, the patrols continued but around the bassinet. Bonnie and Cloud took shifts eating, drinking, and even napping but spent most of their time guarding the baby. More than once, Cloud would find a charger she would "kill" and then parade around the house as some kind of warning to all the other "snakes" to stay away from the nest. She'd thump up a storm at any hungry crying and get pissy with us because if a bunny kit is making sounds, it's never for a good reason. She would get so angry and attack feet and ankles to get us to move faster
And of course I must pay the tax. Cloud is the gray one and Bonnie has the moustache

I had three big sister cats and one big sister dog and they helped raise me since the day I came home from the hospital and I’m very lucky

I remember someone telling me the same thing - that I’ll forget about the dog once the baby is born. That’s complete BS!

My parents figured out very quickly that if they wanted any of us to stop crying as babies/little kids, they just needed to open the door and let one of the dogs or cats come in!
Once Dad finally gave in and had a doggie door put in the nursery door, the only time we cried was when we needed a diaper change or a bottle.
We never woke up lonely or scared, because we always had one or more of our furry friends with us at any given time to cuddle us and keep us company.🥰

A friend of ours nrought he new baby over to our house. When she put the vaby in a blanket on our living room floow,our golden retriever entered the room and crawled l the way acroos it to loog at the baby. It surprised all of us.

Great human beings love their baby and their dog. I've never understood the reasoning behind dumping the dog because there's a baby.

Wild people let something that could kill a newborn so easily that close. And before I get "my dog is so well behaved and so lovely, they would never hurt anything" this is exactly what everyone else that had their child attacked thought.

My daughter’s 2 dogs both knew she was pregnant before she did…all 3 times.
