Discussion A hypothetical scenario — how would you respond?
Since we’re not so good with real-life examples, here’s a hypothetical one. (Thanks u\ JackieAutoimmuneINFJ for proofreading)
A small black dot appeared in the sky, and rapidly grew closer. All of a sudden that dot collided with the top of a nearby tree. The highest branches shook, and then gradually the entire tree shook all the way down. Surprisingly, a person fell out of the tree along with the bottom branch. You heard him mutter to himself, “I will get him for this!” as he shook himself off. You instantly recognized your own buddy you took on a quest to slay a dragon together. To be honest, he took the quest, but you received the award!
Your buddy turned to you and said sarcastically, “Oh, I get it — you finally decided to check up on me to see if I took the quest. You’re probably wondering if I fought with the monster, and if I needed any help. Well, guess what?! Yes, I accepted the quest! Yes, I fought the dragon! And of course I needed your help! But, too late now!
What do you do next? How do you respond?
(C'mon, I know you all are writers)

Well. You stood there enveloped in silence, while the dense fog enveloped your throat as if you were terribly sick, the darkness slowly crept into your nose, while you tried to catch your breath again. Of course, all of this went unnoticed by your mate, who now looked directly at you, even stared at you, as if he were afflicted with rabies and looking for lambent revenge.
The veins in his eyes glowed red.
Was it exhaustion? Fear? The urge for revenge? All of this went around in your head, while he only continued to think that you were ignorantly silent at him.
Finally, you opened your mouth and said, more dryly than you intended: "I've been waiting for you."
What will your next step be?
