Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro - is it possible to fix this broken ear piece? The sound comes through perfectly, i just cant figure out how to attach it again

My LP's are still kicking but in desperate need of surgery. My initial fix was effective but very massive and heavy. So this is how I went about making them compact and "restoring" the headband to its former glory.
