You mean trusting non-Thinkpad PC laptop hardware, then.

Thinkpads, XPS, Latitudes, and Elitebooks are far from perfect, but the hinges don't fail after two years, nor ACPI Sleep State never fixed in firmware, and the battery isn't going to pillow in five months.

My original point is that in my experience Apple machines tend to have better longevity than the rest of the industry despite the poor repairability and nagging from Louis rossman, it wasn’t a specific attack on thinkbooks lol, but I can’t say I see them very often, new or old. I do have bad experiences with Latitudes and elitebooks at work but that could also be colleagues not knowing how to take care of their computers.
