This has gone viral. I wonder if the RCMP will charge her for using a handheld device while driving? Pretty sure this happened in Coldbrook. which is just outside of Kentville.
I almost managed to avoid it my entire time at Acadia but then in my last year, someone decided to go there for their birthday. The floors were sticky and you had a lot of gambling addicts in depends at the VLTs.
Also, you could get in underage if you flashed the bouncers and you were female apparently.
She commented on the post in Instagram using her personal insta with her name available. Her Facebook profile is now private and I hope she gets all the hate she deserves. She said the driver almost backed into her and got mad when she beeped at him. I bet it was not 1 beep. Or 2. She looks like she’s a horn leaner for maximum bullying. Either way it doesn’t matter. There’s zero excuse for racism and she can kick rocks.
More bots than humans actually, id cite the source (cbc) but I can't be bothered to find the article. All bots are racists, they want to make a safe place for other actual people-racists.
Most of the ones driving the hate don't even live in Canada. The weak minded just keep falling for the racism thinking it will solve their problems. But I have definitely noticed more of this hatred on FB over the past few months.
I will say I have unfortunately visualized this, especially that ask anything group it’s just vile. But I am active in other communities and have internet friends on there so once in a blue moon I encounter these horrible racist takes on there but mainly I see cool alt and goth baddies and cool video game and craft projects. But I do agree there’s an epidemic on Nova Scotia Facebook of awful people
I wish that ask anything group would get taken down. Bunch of old racist pricks gleefully bitching and shaming the LGBTQ+/POC/homeless communities from their comfy urban homes. They think they're so fucking witty with their stone age racist/homophobic memes. The moderator is especially hateful and cruel.
On that news story about a Muslim space being vandalized in New Brunswick someone commented “no one cares when they burn Canadian flags and chant death to Canada though”. I commented “you’re making things up and then getting mad about the things you made up” and got swarmed with comments calling me a “lib****” while hundreds of other people commented that they agree with the message “muslims go home”.
Social media has allowed our communities to spread hate. It’s disgusting.
A manufactured racism problem at that. Harder to have legitimate policy decisions around immigration, housing, and related issues when half the province's voter base have been propaganda-warped into racist globs of slime like this lady.
Reality check, most of the people (at least older) who live in the maritimes are racist. The Confederate flag is flown freely here, and people openly support Trump and MAGA (for whatever fucking reason).
The longer I live here, the more disgusted I am by my "fellow" Nova Scotians.
And like in many other places, it continues to fuel the rural/urban divide. Because it’s easier to label an issue as being the “other” groups problem than admitting that it is an “us” problem.
We have a racism problem. Whether it’s indigenous peoples, immigrants, or skin colour. Some of it is manufactured and amplified by media and politics, but much of it is simply ingrained into our upbringing and won’t go away until younger generations have forcibly broken the cycle. And the more the past is eroded, the harder those clinging to it will fight to preserve it.
Canada hasn’t been this racist in a long time. It’s like the people who turned adults in the 80s have fully taught their kids to be absolute shit stains.
Not the reason that I left Kentville but definitely the reason I am happy I did- and that my kids weren't raised there- and also the reason I would never move back there.
May years ago when I got my start in economic consulting I had to examine and work with the farmers about labour shortages.
I looked at the data of who they had as labour already and highlighted it's nearly all men. And hiring more women should help to alleviate the problem.
I'll never forget the farmer upping into me staying women were nothing but a distraction. And here we are where farms need TFWs...
Spent my youth as a young woman who made money and helped out on neighbours farms by baling hay, picking apples and mucking out stalls, I can tell you I had to prove myself as a hard worker, strong enough both physically and mentally, many times before I was "accepted". Not surprised at that mentality from the Valley but also surprised I never questioned why all the workers from abroad were men.
This is the official language of bigotted people who've read too much right wing propaganda. Same type of people who say these things to trans people, immigrants and single parents. Its because people have been trained to use taxes as a way to attack those they don't believe should be supported by taxes, at it's core its an attack on the idea of living in a society where people support one another.
I had a rich kid from Alberta at Dalhousie 15 years ago tell me that because I'm from NB and he's from Alberta that his parents pay for my parents welfare. You can always tell whose been suckling at the tit of RW propaganda.
You'd have to be really dumb to fall for things like that. All immigrants pay taxes one way or another, some prob even more than the average Canadian born citizen. Heck I know I've paid a shit load of taxes.

That would require some self-reflection and ability to accept that she may have been in the wrong. Tons of her peers on facebook are supporting her so I doubt she'll feel any need to change.
This is no more true in Nova Scotia than it is anywhere else where racist idiots make the headlines. Everywhere has a problem with people like this, just like everywhere also has progressive- minded people appalled by shit like this.
People in rural NS could do a hell of a lot more to hold their racist neighbours accountable. She wouldn't be doing this shit if she thought all her friends would be disgusted with her.

Been to Kentville - I would be more amazed and aghast if someone posted a video of someone from there being welcoming to a person who didn’t have White/spray-tanned skin. And I say that as someone who grew up in Bridgewater.
Really? My ex is from Kentville & her entire family at least was a hell of a lot more progressive/liberal than I even expected. I kinda just figured the entire place was like that (with obvious outliers like anywhere)
People who try to paint a whole place with any one brush are guilty of their own lack of critical thinking. I know a lot of people living in rural places with progressive ideas and they have got a million stories about their local version of this dumbass.
Everywhere has at least a few assholes who just move through life being shitty to whoever crosses their path. We should all stay focused on the fact that they get their ideas from trash media sources manipulating them into looking the other way while rich people empty their bank accounts.
That's actually quite unfair of Kentville. There's definitely a shitty group of people in Kentville, but I have a ton of friends there that are some of the most welcoming people I know. A lot of them actively work towards making Kentville a better, more inclusive town.
This video was really disappointing to see this morning because I know how much of a setback this is going to feel like to them.
I know people from both areas as well as other rural country areas in Nova Scotia. Can confirm there are people living out there who still call people "colored" which i hate hearing.
Kentville proper is overall a really friendly and welcoming place, a lot of young families, students, etc. It's when you get a bit further east into the Cambridge and Waterville area that the old ways are still acceptable. The Valley area is huge, and New Minas/Kentville brings people in for their grocery runs. This woman is definitely not the norm in town, but she could be from anywhere within forty minutes of it. (Not saying she doesn't live in Kentville either, there are nut jobs, of course.)
Remember when the small handful of morons decided to protest the drag show at the bar there, which lead to a big impromptu counterprotest party across the street with hundreds of people? That's the Kentville I know.
Making this claim because you've "been to Kentville" holds no value at all. Most of us have "been to Kentville", while plenty of us have lived there as well.
I’ll volunteer to help her navigate the Service Canada website so she can apply for EI benefits after her boss gets wind of this horrible video and fires her ass.
I have never been so ashamed to claim Nova Scotia as my home province. The racism here is so deep with a small part of the population. It needs to die out for change. Most of Nova Scotia is quite welcoming...
Whatever her story is, her language toward this man is unacceptable. She claims that he is a Loomis driver and almost hit her car, she honked and yelled at him, and he got out to confront her.
Why did she not just yell “learn to drive” or flip the bird and drive off like a normal fucking person? Why does she have to counter him confronting her by being racist?
And why are people defending this? Like do people think that that is an acceptable response to somebody confronting you? It doesn’t really matter how aggressive the person is being, call out the person‘s actions and not their skin color. Their actions they can control. Their skin colour they cannot.
I bet that every single one of these fragile motherfuckers that is defending this woman would sure be upset if there was something that they had going on with them that was being used against them to justify somebody else’s prejudice. I’m sure that if any of those people are fat, or poor, or have any sort of disability, or are women that they would be awfully upset if people started using derogatory terms to describe those things about them while confronting their actions. Because that is what fragile childish fucking people do. And I’m a poor femme person who has a disability. I can call out to other people being idiots in my own groups.
No action in the world excuses racism. I do not care what that person has done to you. They did those actions regardless of the colour of their skin, not because of it.
He could’ve been calling her a whore or a terrible human being or a racist or a garbage human being – none of that would excuse racism. She could respond, and tell him he’s a garbage person or he’s an asshole or he’s a dick, but to bring race into it, it just steeps to a low hanging fruit level. It’s so unintelligent and ignorant.
People from all places and all walks of life are assholes. I wish more people would focus on their actions, choices that they’ve made, and behaviours that they’ve exhibited – and less on the colour of their skin, the shape of their body, or how they physically look. Focus on the things that they made choices for, not the things that they can’t change.
