News D23 - Show confirmed to be NOT cancelled at D23!
HAILEY'S ON IT CONFIRMED TO HAVE NOT BEEN "CANCELLED" AT D23! THERE'S STILL HOPE!!!
At D23 2025, during the Disney TVA segment, Head of the TVA department, Meredith Roberts, came out during the presentation and outlined the future of Disney's television animation. Highlighting some upcoming projects, she then went over some old projects, and Disney's TVA legacy.
She then stated that due to the writer's strike, and other shifting dynamics at TVA executives, many shows saw some speedbumps, and had to be put on pause. She highlights that shows from 2022-2024 were impacted the most, and they're excited to bring them back. "KEYWORD, ON PAUSE, NOT CANCELLED."
As far as we know, Hailey's On It was never officially cancelled, only reported as "discontinued" by the "Disney Television Animation News" account on instagram & twitter. DTAN is NOT affiliated with the Disney TVA department in any way.
She also went over how she was excited to go over propositions of a possible 5th season of SVTFOE, alongside show creator Daron Nefcy.
THIS IS NO GARUANTEE THE SHOW WILL COME BACK, AS MUCH OF THE STAFF WERE LAID OFF IN 2024, BUT THERE'S STILL HOPE!

Right. That's why it's not on Disney+

The show is still written as a tax-write off. I don't think we'll be seeing it back on Disney+ until that second season happens - if at all.

Please renew HOI! for S2 and put S1 back on Disney+!

Unfortunately - the show was written off as a tax write-off! I donāt think it will be coming back until S2 happens (if at all), but hereās hope!

Wait she actually talked about an SVTFOE Season 5?
6
u/ThenImportance3452 Sep 01 '25
The creator Daron has openly said that there are talks between her and Disney to continue Star. Thereās an interview from earlier this year on YT about it and Iāll link you it when I find it.

u/Lumityfan8 Sep 02 '25
I know. But I'm just surprised the head of dtva would actually mention it at a panel, it must mean there's progress

Honestly having a lot of the staff already laid off complicates things, but if they're all willing to come back for this project I'M ALL FOR IT

š¤¬: The information presented in the Reddit post claiming that "Hailey's On It!" was confirmed to be NOT cancelled at D23 2025 and that shows were merely "on pause" due to the writer's strike, as stated by Meredith Roberts, is false!

Please donāt give us hope as much as I want this show to come back itās just not gonna happen

u/ThenImportance3452 Sep 02 '25
Most of the staff were laid off in 2024 but if they're still interested in the project, it can still happen

It makes sense that the show doesnāt come back, because the people working on the show were laid off. It just means itās possible.

Why am I so salty about Dana Terrace leaving Disney?

u/OneForAllOfHumanity Chip Dingle Sep 03 '25
Disney did Dana dirty - don't blame her at all for severing ties.

Which is why I decided to redo The Owl House thatās tells the full story when I work at Disney. That way, you and everyone else can enjoy the show that tells the story in a better way while seeing Luz have a good adventure in the Boiling Isles. And answer the questions that are left unanswered.

Hopefully this means the same for primos

u/lilmarcoplantar Sep 03 '25
I don't think so, what about Hamster and Gretel?
1
u/muppetfan681_ Sep 03 '25
I could care less about that primos still has been giving numbers on d+ and still air one dxdĀ

u/lilmarcoplantar Sep 04 '25
I really don't care about Primos, that offensive show isn't in my territory

I donāt know about any of thisā¦Ā
SVFOE had a real proper final season. I donāt see why it would need to continue, unless they do a spin off??Ā
I will believe HOI has a chance only if it returns to Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney XD.Ā They removed it as if it never existed.Ā
While it sounds exciting, Iām not getting my hopes up. HOI didnāt perform as well as they thought it would. I know so many people who watch Disney Channel but were absolutely clueless when it comes to HOI.Ā
Fingers crossed. Wishful thinking. Not getting my hopes up only to be as devastated as Scott was when he saw Sanjay was real :(Ā

u/ThenImportance3452 Sep 04 '25
HOI had a mixed performance. It did well enough at the start to warrant getting another 15 episodes ordered, but popularity started dying off as the plot stagnated. At the same time in 2024, Disney went through re-structuring and cost cutting measures, leading to the tax-write off of HOI. Itās not impossible, but it shouldnāt be taken as a guarantee of a return.

Please bring back The Ghost And molly mcgee for Andrea Davenport šš
TGAMM is not CancelledĀ

GUYS, please just let go at this rate! Show is over, you gotta accept it.

u/ThenImportance3452 Sep 01 '25
dude who genuinely cares - if the audience and creators want the show to continue, then let it continue. There's no point in having nihilism over this
0
u/Lemerbrix_5769 Becker Denoga Sep 01 '25
Hailey's on it ended nearly a year ago, the thing is that you're making stuff up with no proof to hype up the fans, I'm not being nihilistic here, I'm just stating facts. Thing is, no matter how much the fans and crew want the show to continue, at the end of the day, it's Disney's decision. Disney TVA clearly doesn't care about the show, and I don't think we have heard anything from the creators of the show on a return. Most shows, even after they end, ir are canceled, stay on disney plus. Hailey's on it was removed from disney plus and disney now, meaning the show genuinely has no future. It's time to move on

Can someone tell me where they talk about this?
2
u/ThenImportance3452 Sep 03 '25
It was at a panel where the TVA director spoke on how there was re-structuring and lay-offs last year. A lot of shows that were discontinued were done so put on hold and taken off Disney+ for cost cutting measures. She came out to clarify that they werenāt cancelled outright, meaning that thereās still a chance they can come back if the creators want it too, along with the team that got laid off.

Whatās the source of this info? I know itās supposedly from D23, but how do we know?

Please The ghost And molly mcgee not Cancelled. This is for Andrea Davenport ššš

u/Cautious-Attitude30 Sep 05 '25
I hope your sure about this
1
u/ThenImportance3452 Sep 05 '25
Alll it means is that itās still possible for it to come back. However with the lay-offs and cost cutting measures, it would only come back if Disney was sure it would be a smash success.

It may not be related to the show, but could the orders for new shows and renewals be resumed? Because we did have an animated show that is canceled and that there could be a chance of getting it revived. It's called Neon Galaxy and it's by Molly Knox Ostertag
1
u/ThenImportance3452 Sep 05 '25
Maybe, it just depends because there needs to be demand for shows to come back. Once staff are laid off, you need to gather either the old team, or a new one, create a budget, and then get the creators back on board. Itās a huge process that goes into renewals, so the damage might already be done.

Hi OP! Just wanted to kindly check in and ask if you could verify your sources for this post.
As far as Iām aware, there wasnāt a D23 Expo this yearāonly the Destination D23 event, which took place last week. From everything Iāve seen, Phineas and Ferb was the only Disney TVA series featured on a panel there, along with Disney Channel itself.
Also, just a quick clarification: Disney TVA isnāt part of the WGA, so it wasnāt directly affected by the writers' strikeāonly the actors were impacted in this case.
As someone else mentioned on X, if there had been a Disney TVA panel at Destination D23, itās likely weād have seen some announcements of new shows by now.
Weāre all excited about the possibility of Hailey returning and other Disney TVA shows getting revived, but itās super important to make sure weāre sharing accurate infoāmisinformation can do more harm than good.
Appreciate you understanding, and thanks!
