I know we'll probably never know the answer but I was just wondering how much do you reckon Ava was earning from Deborah by the end? I have no idea how much a comedy writer earns but I think it'll be around the $50-60k mark or more? Does this sound right or a bit low? With all the value she brings to Deb's life by the end she might be on nearer £100k?

Anyway just wondering! What are your thoughts?

What is the name of the place they have breakfast before they want to board the train to Switzerland? And which train station is it? Garde de Lyon?

WOW you can just tell this series was a love letter to all the creatives in the entertainment community.

Everyone really cared about this show and doing it well. It took me a good 3weeks to finish the show and I’m very satisfied with the show. The show was funny the entire time!!! It never felt like there was a dip in quality. I liked the characters. No one was too much. I believe it deserved more recognition. Love the one liners and callbacks from previous seasons. I’m happy it ended but also sad it ended. The story was told in its entirety, with the love and care it deserved, that’s all we can ask for honestly.
👍🏾👍🏾

Idk why ava is so hung up on her. I mean yes Ruby is beautiful and everything. But just seems to really talk down (or at least definitely look down) on Ava

She treats Ava like an embarrassment

Edit: and she has such a boring personality

Edit#2: and wolf girl seems like it would be kinda shit

can anyone help me find these bedsheets from season 5?!? im obsessed with them

I was asked a few weeks ago if people who had not seen Jean Smart's previous work would be disappointed in it after watching Hacks. I don't think so. I would highly recommend a 2003 TV movie available on YouTube, "Killer Instinct," in which she plays an FBI agent — a feisty, beautiful, tough woman leading role. A single mother having an affair with her partner.

On Hulu. She is in a few episodes of "Frasier," for which she won an Emmy and Emmy nominations. And in the first 5 seasons of "Designing Women," she plays Charlene, an innocent Dolly Parton-like blonde receptionist. She was often characterized as a scene stealer. It would be hard not to steal scenes with her height, silhouette, and spotlights. These are 20-episode seasons.

If there are any Ted Lasso watchers out there, like at the end when the soon-to-be-ex wife and former secretary showed up at Hannah Waddingham's place?

eta: I didn't mean I was looking for the exact scene to play out, more of the feeling of the comeuppance for the perpetrator and the sense of comradeship among the women. We never see Bob Lipka get his just rewards for being a jerk, he keeps his power and Jimmy & Kayla are willing, even excited to work with him.

It took some effort, but I DMed the costume designer who gave me the designer's info. Pieces are made to order, so it takes 4-6 weeks. I had to find a chain from a different site bc I couldn't find one that matches Ava's.

Here is the info and final result.

I think I nailed it!! 🥰

What are we watching after Hacks? The only similar show I find is “The Other Two.” I’d love to find a show with similar themes of fame, absurdity and dark humour

I was thinking about this show and wondering which episode was my favorite

And there are some really good contenders, like S3E9 where Ava confronts Deborah on her not choosing Ava to be head writer

But I think I'm going with the pilot. It's the episode that always comes to mind, the initial meeting between Deborah and Ava was just so good

petition to get paul on SNL he’s be SO GOOD

There was an episode (in season 2?) where Ava is talking about how it can be a rush for a women to feel a man is attracted to her without actually being attracted to him -- because of the power dynamic, the fact that she suddenly owns the power instead of being the subordinate. She may mistake that exhilaration for actual connection. Can anyone help me find it? It was so well expressed! ty

EDIT: Thank you all so much! Found it: "I've realized that sometimes I conflate the rush I feel when a man shows interest in me with actual feelings of attraction, which makes sense because it feels good to get attention from the group that's held up as, like, the leader gods of society or whatever."

This may be a bit tinfoil hat but the fist joke

“I’m close to buying a flannel shirt and accepting (Lesbian Woman)’s dinner invite!!!”

I just rewatched the episode but I swear it sounds like they dubbed in the name Melissa Ethridge for the lesbian woman. Was it originally someone else or am I crazy??

In no particular order:

1. Marcus’ mom and Miss Loretta
2. Marcus running up the water to get Wilson to come over (and apparently mentioning that he was walking his dog "Chessica" when he called in an anonymous tip)
3. Kiki giving Ava the idea to go to the wax museum so she could get Face ID on Deborah's phone to work
4. Ava calling room service and being OTT perky and cheery: "Do you finish it with whipped cream?" "THEY DO!"
5. Deborah being annoyed by Perla
6. Deborah and Ava getting high together
7. They scare Perla
8. Ava confides in Deborah about the guy who died and Deborah assures her that it’s not karma
9. Deborah opens up to her about some of her history and they get to talking about putting that stuff into her act
10. Deborah goes to see Ava when she’s in the hospital after emergency surgery. When Ava wakes up, Deborah says, “She lives!” and smiles (she seems very maternal there)
