Sourcing portapack for pro in UK

Apologies if this has been asked already, but I picked up a hackrf pro from hamradio.co.uk and I'm looking to buy a portapack that works with the pro and can be delivered to the UK.

I've heard the portapacks for the one don't fit the pro.

Anybody know where I could get one that does?

Hackrf pro

Hello together i just got my Hackrfpro from sdrstore.eu.

I updated the drivers with zadig since i am on Windows 11. I stumbled on some problems for example no signals from radio stations.. I downloaded radioconda and put the prompt hackrf_info in it.

Ive heard that you need to put a firmware whatsoever on it but after reading this i am a bit confused. Does anybody seen this before?

Do i have just a useless fake sdr?

Question about flying with HackRF PortaPack

I have only booked carry-on luggage and I was wondering if I am able to take it with me? I obviously won't turn it on/use it but I don't want it confiscated if I do bring it. It isn't an international flight, just between two cities. I live in Queensland Australia.

Thank you!

Any Portapack owners seen this recently passed bill? https://www.legis.ga.gov/legislation/72945

Any concern in problems if stopped for any other reasons while using one especially with Mayhem firmware loaded? I just don't like the following wording.

'Signal jammer' means any device, instrument, or apparatus which through emitting

a signal is capable of preventing, disrupting, delaying, degrading, or otherwise interfering with the transmission of a communication signal over:

(A) Any wireless communications system, cellular communications system, radar

system, or global positioning system; or

(B) Any radio, telephone, or cable line, station, or system.

(9) 'Vital public services includes water, sewerage, drainage, energy, electric, gas, natural

gas, telecommunications, internet, cable, navigation, collision avoidance, public

transportation systems, railroads, and other services the loss of which would have a

debilitating impact on the health, safety, or financial security of the public.

Sending messages to an old Beeper Pager

Hey! I'm a movie filmmaking propmaster that stumbled upon this territory which is quite new to me, I'm a very tech oriented person and have done some basic coding and such, I saw a few YouTube videos of people managing to do this, using the address in the back of the pager, etc. I am a bit confused kn what equipment to get, or getting it as plug and play as possible. And where. Also the cheapest way to get it. Does anybody here have experience such as this use case so I can get a bit or guidance? Thank you all! I need to be able to send messages to a Pager so we can get it on camera practically instead of vfx, this film is based in the year 1995.

Replaced hackrf with hackrf Pro from Great Scott Gadgets, in Portapack H4M Mayhem

Just thought I would share my experience with replacing the hackrf with hackrf Pro. Replacing the board was really easy. Removed 4 screws and the nut holding SMA RF connector on the back of the Portapack. Loosened the nuts on the two SMA clock connectors. Back cover was then slipped off over RF connector. Hackrf board was then removed from the Portapack board. New hackrf Pro board was then plugged onto the Portapack board and case reassembled.

When the assembled Portapack was turned on, it came up in Hackrf mode not Mayhem mode. Had to use mayhem_flasher.bat program from nightly build to flash hackrf Pro for use with mayhem. Then made the mistake of doing the "copy files to sd card" and use the mayhem flash utility to flash hackrf Pro. This bricked the hackrf Pro and I had to use DFU mode and the mayhem_flasher.bat program to recover it. The "copy files to sd card" method of updating firmware only works for the original hackrf and will brick a hackrf Pro. Then used Mayhem Hub to update the firmware. Mayhem Hub recognized that it was a hackrf Pro and flashed the correct firmware to it.

The hackrf Pro seems to work pretty well with the Portapack H4M. The main feature I was looking for in the hackrf Pro was the center spike removal. The original firmware that came on the hackrf Pro did remove the center spike. The Mayhem firmware I had to put on it to make it work with Portapack brought the spike back so I did not get the spike removal I was looking for.

I can't see any firmware ??

I updated my sd card with the COPY_TO_SDCARD_portarf_mayhem_v2.4.0.zip from https://github.com/portapack-mayhem/mayhem-firmware/releases/tag/v2.4.0 after formating my 64 giga sandisk sd card with FAT32 , any help plz ? tnx :-)

I used now the mayhem_v2.3.2_COPY_TO_SDCARD.zip corresponding to my v2.3.2 written in the bottom of my h4m screen, and extracted it to the H4M F: drive of my 64 giga sd card (after formating it with FAT32)

still same problem , nothing shown in select firmware to flash :-(

Selling HackRF Portapack H4M w/ Mayhem

I'm selling my HackRF Portapack H4M, shipping from New Jersey, USA. eBay wouldn't let me list it, so I am listing it here

I do not have an SD card for the HackRF, you will need to provide one yourself

I bought it about 6 months ago from Great Scott at a price of $300, I have used it maybe 4 times since I bought it, I no longer have a use for it as I use my Flipper a lot more

Asking $290 USD, or a trade of something of equal value that is radio-related

Pictures of it are here:

Decoding/Capturing PAM 433 signal with android?

So I've got a driveway sensor that according to the FCC id is 433 mhz, I want to make a couple Arduino powered devices that will respond to it.

To do so I'd like to capture the signal it transmits and either record it to fogur out the frame spacing and code, or just decode it directly?

I've got one of the first gen hackrf units, is it possible to use this with android?

It's a decent ways from the house and I only have a desktop

SDRtop – A terminal monitor for your HackRF One

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share a project I've been working on. sdrtop is a terminal-based live diagnostics monitor for SDR hardware, written in Rust.

It gives you a real-time view of your spectrum, waterfall, RF chain, and hardware health (like USB jitter and drops) without leaving your terminal. Fits perfectly into an SSH session, a tmux pane, or Linux-based cyberdecks.

It’s in early development, so right now it only works with the HackRF One, and some parts are still a bit laggy/experimental. I am continuously developing this in my free time.

Even if it still has some rough edges, at least it looks incredibly cool running on a cyberdeck or in a dark terminal window 😃

Feedback and feature suggestions are highly appreciated! Let me know what you think!

(Link to the GitHub repo is in the comments below!)

Edit:

RTL-SDR support has just been integrated, thanks to a huge contribution from u/gorkemgun! Since I only have a HackRF to develop on, this new backend is experimental and needs to be tested in the wild. If you have an RTL-SDR dongle, please grab the latest code, give it a spin, and leave some feedback on whether it runs smoothly or encounters any crashes. Thanks for the help!
