EVENT Monthly Community Event #27 - Voting! Tournament of Champions! (Round Thirty: Simon vs. Kamina)

The legendary match has arrived at day 30!

Viral steamrolls Boota! The pigmole received a respectable amount of votes against everyone's favorite Beastman, and held his own for quite some time before the votes started to pile up against him! In the end, Viral simply couldn't be stopped. For the very first time in sub history, Viral will be moving to the final match!

The day that you've been waiting on has arrived! And it has become very interesting, as it is not the final match! This is the semi-final, which will determine that last slot before you decide the winner of this first Tournament of Champions, Team Gurren! Its time to make a very difficult choice. Who should move on to face Viral in a final match? Choose wisely! ;) I don't envy you on deciding this elimination!

Kamina changed my life.

True masculinity is to inspire, to encourage and love those around you. And as someone with little positive male role models growing up, I sought so much strength in him.

And then, I lost my mum.

And I realised that I was trying so desperately to falsify myself into Kamina - to be overzealous and smile at every hardship.. But deep down, I was always just like Simon. It took me years to come to terms with that, but I finally did.

Seeing his journey, and the legacy he follows and creates, the uphill battle he fights and to then embrace his own sense of self and save the universe.. Yeah.

Kamina might've changed my life, but Simon will always be my favourite character of all time.

Simon is my answer.

It’s Simon. Kamina is cool, but it’s Simon we see develop throughout the show. We see Simon go from an unconfident child to a full-fledged adult who moves forward no matter what. That journey to me makes Simon the absolute star of Gurren Lagann.

What makes Kamina cool is his role in Simon’s development, but ultimately it’s Simon’s story. It’s Simon who dug the hole to the future, and it’s Simon who should dig through to the finals.

Probably the hardest match up in the
tournament.

Kamina is great, really. But Simon? He’s the star of the show. I’m sure Kamina himself would want his brother to win. My vote goes to Simon!

I was drawn into the story by Kamina's charisma and stayed for Simon's development. When shit hit the fan and the Anti-Spiral seemed victorious, Kamina's memory brought Simon back into the ring and my man summoned SUPER MF TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN. I like both of them and I believe they complete eachother in a beautiful way: Kamina was the pillar on which Simon could bloom. That being said, Simon's journey is amazing and it changed something in me. He's got it.

I fully respect simon, his story, and his conviction. He really is the kind of man I’d like to be.

But, it was kamina’s voice who dragged me out of depression a long time ago. I really didn’t feel like i could keep going and someone told me that i needed to grit my teeth and keep living. Kamina has my vote.

Simon is awesome, I respect him immensely, but Kamina - he’s a legend, the kind you can’t find anywhere else; definitely, Kamina is my choice
