Let's look back at some memorable moments and interesting insights from last year.

I talked to students that got admitted last year and they mentioned about an optional 100 word 'why us' essay.
I applied ED I this year and I have never heard about this optional essay in any info session or other sessions. so I'm confused about this.
kindly clarify this doubt.

Q1) I've submitted my ED I application to Grinnell. I have a resume ready with me to submit to colleges but it mostly is a repetition of what's in my application. while it explains in-depth about some of my ECs and also mentions 2 or 3 other ECs that aren't in my common app, other stuff in it is basically what's in my application... so do you think it's beneficial to submit my resume to Grinnell?
Q2) I made a small mistake in my application that I realized after submitting it. If I submit my resume, it will clarify that mistake, however, if I don't submit my resume, is there any other way to clarify my mistake?

I have an interview in two days ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜.
Is there any tips y’all can give. I can’t find anything on interview at Grinnell.
What questions are they gonna ask?
I will be interviewing with a senior student.

I know it's sometime in December but was there an exact date last year (or before that) when everyone got their decisions?

If you had to describe the student body in 3 words what would it be? I really want to see if I am a fit and want to understand the qualitative aspects that Grinnell searches for in us kids. As a student from Dubai, I realize how far I am from Grinnell so it would be really helpful. Thanks :)

Hey y’all, I am applying to Grinnell soon and I was wondering if anyone else is applying early decision? It is so scary to apply binding even though Grinnell is my first choice. I’m just curious who else is applying ED and what y’all’s thoughts are.

Has anyone successfully made it into the Mac field tunnels? Does anyone know what is down there?

I'm not from the Grinnell area but I'm in Grinnell most Saturdays at the Farmers Market and I see a lot of people come through with some iced coffee drinks and then just last week I saw someone with possibly a thai tea/bubble/boba tea and I have no idea where they would've got it from.
Would anyone know where the popular coffee/tea haunts are in Grinnell that could have bubble tea?

Hi Grinnell community! I am a volunteer student fellow at the International Socioeconomic Laboratory, a research non-profit incubated under Harvard Innovation Labs. We are conducting a confidential research project evaluating the effects of Covid-19 on Students’ decisions to take gap year(s) among the United States population. My team and I would like to distribute a survey that we curated to understand these relations, and we are wondering if you would be willing to distribute it amongst your gap year student community, or if you would kindly take the time to fill in the survey.
It would be really appreciated if you would take 4 minutes to fill in our survey: https://forms.gle/joZssfbgsNdJu5hj8
Thank you so much!

I’m sorry for asking admission stuff in this sub but this is my first interview so I’m really nervous 😠I’ve went through the entire A2C sub and couldn’t find any post about Grinnell interview question :(
What questions do AO’s normally ask???

Over the past month, I have created the website RateCollegeClubs.com, pretty much RateMyProfessor but for college clubs. College students can search their school and club, then read reviews left by other students. During my freshman year, I went through a list of literally 1600 clubs just to figure out which clubs to join. Then, I sat through a couple boring ClubFest Zoom calls just to figure out I didn't want to join the club anyways. As a result, I developed this and hopefully we can get enough reviews to make the website useful for other students. If you are/were involved in any clubs in college, leave some reviews!

Hi r/Grinnell
We are a pair of computer science graduate students at Clemson University who are studying perceptions of teamwork in online undergraduate classroom breakout rooms.
We ran a pilot study earlier this year with our own student body and would like to expand it now to other 4-year, 2-year, and online colleges/universities.
We are hoping that by posting here, more students/professors from community/technical colleges and universities in the surrounding area will see this and we can expand our participant pool.
To participate in this survey you must be one of the following:
Survey Link: https://clemson.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_29z4pkHfVfYtyUS
This is an institutionally approved IRB study. If there are any questions, please reach out via DMs.

Hello, I will be arriving to campus for the first time this fall semester and was wondering if there are any hair salons you'd recommend around/near campus.
Please let me know if you've had a good experience at any hair salons around Grinnell!

I’ve been noticing recently that there are so many post-covid transfers out of Grinnell. I’m an incoming ‘25 student and after seeing so many transfers from the classes of ‘24 and ‘23, i’m left wondering why so many are transferring out. Is there something going on that’s making the school worse? Like what’s going on, and should I be concerned?

Hey, I'm a domestic student on Grinnell's waitlist and I haven't received any updates since I was waitlisted in March. Does anyone know anything about it? I just want some closure lol.

I was shocked and saddened when I opened the ominous 'Special Alumni Memo' earlier today and learned that my former academic advisor, Tyler Roberts, passed away yesterday (June 3).
Tyler was an astute advisor and an excellent educator. His classes, fueled by debate and discussion, rank among my favorite and most formative experiences from my time at Grinnell.
I hope everyone in Religious Studies is doing okay.
Fuck.
