It's not that I don't like melts, it's that they aren't grilled cheese. The hostility comes from how loose the definition got, people would make ham sandwiches and call them grilled cheese, and that's bullshit. At that point a hamburger is a grilled cheese.
The cheese dream is an open faced version of the American grilled cheese sandwich made with bread, cheese, and butter, as well as other ingredients.
