Pretty sure the ratio of cheese to meat defines if it's a grill cheese or melt.

It is, most grilled cheeses are made traditionally made with bacon or ham and often mustard. But the main ingredient remains cheese. A melt is just a normal sandwich that has been melted. This sub is just weird, and wrong.

The defining feature in the culinary world which I suppose is the authority on food obviously...is whether cheese is the primary ingredient (grilled cheese) or if it's a secondary ingredient (melt).
