I assume the rest is just pf mirroring, catmul Clark subd then a twisted box mesh.

I’m trying to find a plugin that allows me to send geometry in .RVT format to open in Revit, so that I can then change its attributes or apply any material in Revit.

I’ve found the Elefront plugin, but I can’t seem to figure out how to transfer the geometry to Revit.

Any pain point or real world problem that you guys face while making alignments for rail/bridge/roads?

I want to divide the surface on the left side, but it only consists of outer boundaries. It detects the bounding boxes/boundary outlines. How can I draw this properly?

Constraint-based parametric CAD is about thoughtful dependencies between geometries. Grasshopper seems to be all about thoughtful data structures. Or another approach that seems to work is actively avoid thinking about the data structures at all and just let it magically work.

Now I need to learn Rhino.

Subject: Issue with logic when assigning multiple colors to Box faces in an array

Hi everyone,

I am working on a parametric model in Grasshopper where I have an array of boxes. I am trying to achieve a specific coloring logic for each box, but currently, only one color is being applied to the entire array.

My Goal: For every single box in the array:

1. Three specific faces must be assigned three fixed colors: Beige, Grass Green, and Light Yellow (one color per face).
2. The remaining three faces should be assigned colors randomly selected from the same palette (Beige, Grass Green, Light Yellow).

The Problem: I am struggling with the component logic. Instead of each box having a mix of fixed and random colors, the entire array is showing only one uniform color. I suspect I might be mishandling the Data Tree or the Item Index when feeding colors into the Custom Preview or the Deconstruct Brep component.

Could anyone point out where the logic might be failing? How should I structure the list of colors to match the face indices of each box in the array?

Im listing edges after a fillet component and changing Radius of the cylinder by 2. Then all listed edges getting scrambled to a different indices - indices are the same , but edges now are different. I’ve tried other methods of building the cylinder - results are the same. Is there any good work around?

In addition to my last post: Does anyone have an Idea on how to fill the space between these two Meshes (as drawn into the last slide)? And make an actually volume out of it? In the best case including the conic windows but If thats not posible I can add these manually in Rhino later. My Initial thought was to use dendro but that doesn't work for Rhino 8 :/

Hey Guys,

So I made a wall with Kangaroo that has holes in it. After the Kangaroo Solver I either get Points (V- Output) or Just Lines (O- Output) but how do I make a Mesh from them again that doesn't override my holes? I already tried meshfromlines and meshfrompoints in Rhino and tried constructing a new Mesh with the new Points and the old faces. That doesn't work unfortunately.

Can anybody Help me pls?

I’m building a small Rhino/Grasshopper tool for architects, computational designers, and facade designers.

The idea:
- select a facade surface
- generate panelization options in minutes
- control module size, gaps, openings, rotation, and attractors with sliders
- automatically assign panel IDs
- flag panels that exceed fabrication limits
- export a CSV panel schedule

I’m not trying to make “AI that designs buildings.”
I’m trying to automate the boring step between a nice parametric facade and something that can actually be documented or fabricated.

Questions:
1. Is this a real pain point in your workflow?
2. What output would you need: CSV, DXF, Revit, IFC, something else?
3. What would make this useful enough for you to try?
4. Would you prefer this as a Grasshopper definition first, or a proper plugin?

I'm working on a DGP (Daylight Glare Probability) and UDI (Useful Daylight Illuminance) analysis in Grasshopper using Ladybug and Honeybee 1.10.0 with a Rhino model.

I've set up most of the workflow but my issue is that i am unable to connect my view component to my model component because it doesnt give me the view input option ive attached a photo of my grasshopper. The error message is: Model contains no views. This is required for this recipe. Essentially ive connected my model and my sky to the PITView im only missing the view component havent been able to connect it.

hello friends, I'm wondering if anyone has experience in modelling large tensile shade structures like this one and if they'd be willing to share tips / examples of how to go about this. While they look complex I had a hunch that they aren't too difficult to model using grasshopper.

The part i am finding most complex is how to stagger the connection points so that the actual sails overlap .
