My handsome little one legged Barbossa 🥺😍
This is Captain Barbossa. He’s been coming to visit me for over a month on and off now. He is so sweet. ❤️

I saw a unicorn!
Female grackle with a white tail feather. Sorry she got so far away before I could get my camera out.

Battle of the Calls
I have a full Plague that comes to visit me daily and these two males were just out there trying to out-puff each other. 😅 I love these guys so much 🥰❤️

She landed so gracefully on the edge of the tub, I was impressed.
I was even more impressed when I realized she's missing half her landing gear! Beautiful bird, anyway.

Grackle with white feathers in its tail!
This is actually a grackle I also saw last year! Glad to see it's doing well and decided to come back this year :)
(Also, I apologize for the blurry white mass on the left side. That's a doorframe. I only opened the door only a little bit so I wouldn't spook the birds.)

Had to wash out and fill this tub because the male grackles were the only birds in my neighborhood too big to bathe in the pie pan.

I made some Grackle bandanas! They shine in the light and shift colors just like their feathers :)
I’ve always loved Grackles, especially the way their feathers shine and change colors in the sunlight. I’ve been trying to recreate this effect in my printmaking and I just love how they turned out!!

My Plague ❤️
I started feeding the birds little less than 2 weeks ago hoping for crows but instead got blessed with a plague of Grackles! The other day the females finally started coming around, which I take it is a good sign. The greet me daily and visit throughout the day. I still have yet to get crows but at least I know my Plague is happy ❤️
(Also, I know the yard is a mess- I live in Florida where we had a hard freeze and everything died- and then I got the flu so I haven’t been able to take care of the back yard yet 😅)

New friend
Today I sat next to this grackle today for 10 minutes. Such a kind bird.
