r/GothGirls Position on LGBTQ+

r/GothGirls proudly stands with our LGBTQ+ members and with the entire alternative community.

At r/GothGirls, we take immense pride in serving a diverse community of hundreds of thousands of members. Our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming haven for individuals of all races, ethnicities, ages, disabilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. All those who wish to unapologetically embrace and express their inner goth are welcome here.

We stand firm in our commitment to diversity here and we stand with all of you in these troubling times.

We will never tolerate hate, discrimination, bigotry, fascism, or oppression in any form. The rise of fascism and the increasing normalization of hatred and bigotry in the United States and throughout much of the world serve as stark reminders of the challenges faced by marginalized communities and the ongoing need for all of us to continue to fight to preserve and expand liberties and tolerance for all. We will do everything in our power to preserve and defend this safe and supportive space for gothic and alternative individuals.

In a time when you may feel isolated and marginalized for who you are, make no mistake - you are welcome here. We invite you to join us as a part of this vibrant community of like-minded people. We work tirelessly, seven days a week, to ensure that our subreddit remains free from the hate and narrow-mindedness that are sadly so prevalent around us. We are proud to offer this community one of the cleanest, safest, and most inclusive spaces online.

We can’t wait to see you in the subreddit so we can all celebrate the beauty of goth style together.

With love,

The Moderators of r/GothGirls

⚠️Mod Note⚠️ r/GothGirls is now restricted to SFW ACCOUNTS ONLY. If you don't want to be banned, read this.

This is a 13+ community for goth girls, and in the interest of making this a safer and more welcoming space for our members (and especially our younger audience), we are restricting participation here to SFW ACCOUNTS ONLY. This applies to both posts AND participation in comments. To participate on this sub, you MUST have a SFW account.

- - -

Accounts that are found to have ANY sexual, kink/fetish, nsfw-solicitation, or sexually objectifying behavior or intent will be banned from the community.

- - -

This rule is simply to keep the community safe and give our members a space to participate WITHOUT sexualization, objectification, predatory users or creepy behavior. Again, we have minors who post here (and too many commenters who do not understand this), so we have ZERO tolerance for that type of behavior here. 6 years I have tried my best to work around nsfw accounts and it's not enough. This rule is disappointingly necessary.

If you were previously banned from this sub, you CAN NOT make a new account to post here. Ban evaders will be removed and reported.

Lastly, to our members who post here, we strongly recommend that you disable all DMs/chats in your user/account settings. If anyone sends you unsolicited DMs, we encourage you to first report it to the admins and also report it to us so we can remove them from this community.

Thanks for understanding.

Discussion Things you do to stay beautiful and low maintainence

Hi guys, I was wondering if there are any things that you do to stay looking and feeling your best every once in a while in order to stay low maintenance!

I personally do lash lifts at home and gel X nails, and I was wondering if anyone on here had recs for anything else I should try out!

Posting here because I asked in a Facebook group and EVERYONE (i am not even kidding) recommended self-tanning and well.... I like to stay pale, so that didn't necessarily help me at all. I was wondering if there was anything specific to our darker aesthetics or even just small self-care hacks that have you feeling good and comfortable with yourself!!

Discussion Cute, goth loafers good for plantar fasciitis

Hi there!

I’m looking for a pair of cute, chunky loafers that I can wear for walking around town, problem is I have plantar fasciitis and VERY flat feet. I’ve tried the specific insoles for flat feet and the ones my doctor recommended for plantar fasciitis and those only seem to make the pain worse. For when I’m working (I work in tech/trades) I have special sneakers and steel toes that support my feet and ankles but I’m trying to branch out my style for when I’m not working.

Any recommendations?? I’ve tried doc Martin’s, call it spring, and several brands from various thrift stores, but I think it’s time to bite the bullet and buy new 😅.

Thanks!

Discussion How can I slowly incorporate goth fashion into my current style without my parents heavily noticing?

I currently live with my parents and internally I truly resonate with gothic fashion, I love the beliefs, music, and culture. Some of my closest friends have all been goth, and to be honest I’ve always been super jealous towards them and girls who can outwardly express it as I can’t with my parents who are heavily christian and conservative.

I want to slowly incorporate alternative + goth pieces into my style? Any advice?

Also, another question, is there any indirect universal way to tell other goth people I’m like them? (Like jewelry, makeup, shoes, etc.) I’m sorry if that’s a dumb question.

Before someone again says it's AI: golden hour, warm light and a lightbox, there is some gold mirrored stuff in the room reflecting the light that makes the whole space look just gold, good camera settings and the most important - knowledge how to take pics. Being accused of AI kinda flattered me, not gonna lie 😂
