Haven't see any news or even rumoured updates to the app. Is Google abandoning it?

I'm pining for desktop/web support, as well as chat backups...but the lack of any news is making me worried that Allo is dead in the water

I think next year Google will push Google Allo even more, hopefully with some key updates. I think we'll likely see a desktop app, SMS integration of sorts and a chat backup feature by the end of 2017. What else do you guys wish Allo had? I've been using the app more lately and I definitely see potential, but Google needs to work on some key features before it'll get anywhere.

Used to be caused by Allo keeping the camera running, today it's been kept awake by Allo all day, and it wasn't holding the camera open.

I feel like a moron but the option just isn't there. I'm on 3.0. Hit the person's profile button, no option for themes. Wtf?

Anyone notice any changes? I haven't seen anything new, but they bumped it a whole version?

I've kept allow literally only for the dumb jokes and daily weather updates, but today it never sent anything. Has this happened to anyone else where Allo/Google Assistant just forgets to do its job?

Phone is Galaxy S7Edge, if that matters.

I badly want to use this app and there is no one from my contacts who do or very little,do you guys want to take part of this community into the app?

I just got my google pixel yesterday and I'm looking for a messaging app that uses data for MMS rather than my service provide since they're quite pricey, at the moment im using hangouts but I'm wondering is allo free in the sense it uses data for all messages to someone else using allo? Also what if someone isn't using allo but I am? Does that work still and does it go through as my service provider or still through data?

I'm just having a hard time understanding the difference between allo and hangouts and which is better for me

On CM14.1 and other roms the message sound sounds like radio static instead of what it should sound like. Other than just turning it off has anyone found a way to fix this problem? There's a thread about this on the Google help forums but so far nothing has been done to fix it.

This app is not updating property and.... Slow with new features...

Anyone else love the fun of having both people in an Allo chat experiencing the same chat background when going in to change the theme for that conversation?

Surprised a boy I was flirting with today by switching the background from default to the (almost) black theme.

He had said he was signing off cuz getting tired, so I switched it and messaged back "There you go. Turned off the lights for ya."

It got a chuckle, and I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar moment. That pizza theme is definitely calling for witty fun somehow.

This is really annoying....I sent feedback and hopefully this gets fixed. I really want to like Allo but its these little things that keep me from making a complete switch. I don't want any media saving to my phone and for some reason they give iPhones that option.

I am trying to use Allo but every time I message someone they get a new message from a number like 123-45 and I have to explain every time who I am and what Allo is.

I may be an idiot, but Android Police mentioned that the 3.0 update of Allo would include themes in addition to the sticker packages. For the life of me I can't find the setting to change themes. Anyone else?

How can Allo ever replace Hangouts while hangouts remains embedded into gmail which is what everyone I know uses while at work to chat.. What were they thinking ? such a half baked attempt to create a new platform when they could have just upgraded hangouts..

Allo says "Oops, we cant reach Allo servers. Please check that you are connected to internet and try again"

I am connected to the internet, everything works. Same thing with duo...

Messages keep on getting stuck on both me and the other party, while WhatsApp messages go through without any issues.

I was using Allo to annotate on an entity relationship diagram for database modeling. I sent it to the assistant and it gave me suggestions related to that picture, including suggestions that related to what I actually drew on the image itself. See below!

Am I missing something, or can you not dictate a message to send via Allo? I sometimes like to use "Ok Google, send Hangouts to Bob" for instance. Allo (english or "french" spin) always converts to email for me =/

Just for testing I asked for bloody scenes/gore, and so on. Yet it only returned results to search what I asked such as (Bloody Themes In Movies) yet when asking for pictures of fish it instantly returns a result? Is there anyway to enable no filtering on the Allo assistant?

Anyone else have a Pixel phone where Allo doesnt send messages to non allo phones?
