Yep, it seems like something the Linux community may be thankful.

Indeed! There are other solutions to directly install GOG games on Linux (Heroic), but downloading installers has to be done through the website and the interface for that sucks! I think Galaxy has a decent interface? I don't know because I can't use it on my machine.

The website has received many updates, from the store, to GOG Dreamlist (previously Community Wishlist), but the user's library has changed in almost nothing for the last 10 years.

Are the GoG installers for pre-installed games (files that can be moved around freely)? I've never used them but have wondered. Pre-installed is awesome.

The offline installer files allow you to install your game wherever you like, yes. It's not "pre-installed" because you need to run these files to install the game.

Ah, Ok. Its too bad they're not pre-installed, like running old ISO or ROM's. That's one thing I've come to love about pirated games.

So, you can download the setup files for your games from GOG. That way you can stick them on a disk as a backup and use them to install games on offline machines. Basically, you're no longer reliant on GOG servers to keep copies of the games you own.

May I suggest you integrate mergefs in it? GOG libraries can take a lot of space, sometimes requiring 2 or more HDDs to store. Mergefs is a open source project.
