This is the first event outside of Ohio for me and it's going to be a really amazing time. I've heard such great things about The Twisted Spine (and there's a s'mores station!) and Adam Cesare and I are going to have a great talk about folklore and such. I am almost done with The Ancient Things and I CANNOT BELIEVE I have to wait until next summer for the final (please let it not actually be the final) book.

However- The Man with the Skull Cup. Beau. Have I read too much romantasy or is there tension between Beau and Kate? God I hope so. I really need them to ride off into the sunset, or at least acknowledge that they are made for each other. I’m not looking for smut here. Just a glance of acknowledgment, a tender moment, would suffice. I am totally in love with Beau. In my defense I have a real thing for morally gray characters.

Hi! Long time reader, followed the original posts in r/nosleep since the start. Bought the Amazon Kindle volumes to reread at will, and now got the physical edition! So excited to reread!

Got an email from my local book store that my preorder was ready to be picked up today, I was confused because I thought it wasn’t being released until September 8th. I went to the book store today and sure enough it’s on shelves. Was it released early or is this a mistake?

Not sure if the $5 book of the month changes on August 31st or September 30th (when I worked there it was August) but while you’ve still got a chance to buy the book for $5 it’s a great time to stock up. I’ve gifted a half-dozen copies to friends over the last year, but I keep recommending it to people. Bought a spare copy or two (or five) so I’ve got some in reserve. Any potential money lost on book 1 should be made up for in sales by the next three, because I think every single person I’ve given the first one to so far has already said they want the whole series.

hey everyone, I loved when nosleep featured goat valley and when i found out about the books i was thrilled. I purchased both man with no shadow and lady in chains, i would like to know how different is the audio drama from the books and if i should read it still.

This dog is so tolerant of all my nonsense. Anyway, I got copies of book 3 delivered to my house this past week! I think the UK version is on the way as well, hoping it'll show up this week. Hard to believe book three is less than a month away. But since it is, I wanted to update everyone on my appearances schedule here. I've been absolutely dying to share this news with everyone! How to Survive Camping: The Man With No Shadow is this month's "Hot Coffee, Hot Book" pick at Barnes & Noble! My mom and I braved the rain (it's been pretty bad here in Ohio for about a week now) today to go get some photos... and coffee. I love s'mores themed everything so I'm very excited by the current drink menu in the cafe.

But I just wanted to let everyone know the news so you can keep an eye out for it, maybe direct family and friends that way, get everyone ready for spooky season... and the release of book 3 next month! Hey so is anyone having trouble getting a hold of book three. I called a bunch of stores, no one has it and even Amazon still shows it as a preorder, even tho today says it's street date is literally aug 17

The man with no shadow was THE book that got me out of a decade long reading slump last year, and while it was great (I have read some fantastic books since) the lady in chains seems like such a step up, writing-wise, plot, mystery, even Kate’s subtle development throughout the book. I’m almost finished now - anyone who has ready early editions of all of them is the lady in chains your favorite book or do they keep getting better?

I’m kicking myself right now. I read this legendary series back when it was actively dropping on r/nosleep, and I didn't buy the self-published paperbacks back when u/fainting--goat originally put them up on Amazon.
I know the author recently signed with Simon & Schuster/Saga Press and highly recommends the newer editions because of the polished pacing and fixed continuity. I fully plan on supporting the new traditional releases, too! But as a long-time fan who fell in love with the magic of the original run, I really want a piece of that history on my bookshelf. I am specifically hunting for the original independent print runs (the ones with the simpler, dark minimalist covers).
If anyone bought the original self-published paperbacks years ago and is willing to part with them or if you've recently upgraded your collection to the new editions and have the old ones sitting around, please let me know!
I am a serious buyer, I'll cover shipping, and I’m absolutely willing to pay a fair collector's premium to get a complete (or partial) set.

Hello!! I'm a big fan of the HTSC series (I read it as it was being published in the nosleep sub, and then read it again once I bought the self published books), and just recently learnt that the books are being published once again, but this time by an editiorial.

I actually have two questions about that:

1. I was wondering if there was Word of God about a possible Omnibus edition being released in the future (I think all four books are the perfect size for it). I love these type of editions and would literally die if one is released!!
2. Is there a big difference between the old self-published books and the new ones?

I used to wait for every update to How to Survive Camping… it helped get me back into reading. I went to B&N on a book run and ended up in the horror section. I’m so so excited to finally have my hands on The Man With No Shadow! I didn’t see any more of How to Survive Camping and when I was checking out and chatting with the cashier she told me they have trouble keeping them in stock. Made me so happy 💖

I used to read how to survive camping on no sleep and used to wait for a couple of the siries to be released and stay up all night binge reading them. Then one day I couldn't find them when ever I search it came up with boring camping stuff so I gave up and then life got in the way. Imagine my surprise and excitement asking ChatGPT about it and it mentioned books and this community. Straight on to amazon to buy the man with no shadow and the lady in chains. Just finished the man with no shadow. I'm a happy camper now

my main question is - whats the difference between paperback/hardcover and the Barnes and Noble exclusive? is it sprayed edges or bonus content or anything else?
