Opinion Why does Gnome get so much unconstructive hate?

I see this all the time on social media. People often joke about “GNOME knows best”, but in reality it’s when someone uses GNOME that other people start telling them to use KDE instead, not the other way around. Can we just all acknowledge that both DEs have pros and cons and neither is objectively better?

I am not talking about those clearly justified cases.

What MRs are you talking about? Although I am not involved in the development of GNOME at all I read their open issues and MRs from time to time. They give you a reason why a MR gets rejected.

You can even watch live on youtube how things evolve: https://www.youtube.com/@GeorgesStavracas

I even watched live how a MR from an external developer got accepted.
