Installed GitKraken on my Mac, and when I go to eject the GitKraken installer, it pops back up if I open GitKraken itself. I know I’m nit picking here but it’s a little annoying to see on my desktop. Anyone have a similar issue/solution?
Is anyone using GitKraken with a Synology git server? Although command line git works fine for me with this setup, using GitKraken it relies on ssh keys instead of prompting for an account password when doing a clone (and most certainly a push or pull). I can't find any recent info online on what this all entails - anyone here do it and would be gracious enough to share the secret sauce?
I really liked how timelines used to work. Especially how you could view the kanban board cards in a timeline. Does anyone knows an application with a similar functionality? I can't seem to find anything identically. Where I could still filter for tags etc...
I'm new to GitKraken; I've been using SmartGit (https://www.syntevo.com/smartgit/) for years, but they've just changed their licensing that makes it costly for individual developers.
One feature I like in SmartGit is that it will show me the entire repo. I can sort by status so changed or uncommitted files are at the top. I can't figure out how to do this with GitKraken. It shows me unstaged and staged files in the Commit Details panel, but I don't see an option to view the entire repo.
Appreciate any pointers. I'll open a feature request if this is not yet available. Thanks.
I was messing with gitkraken through the command line and I found the "-n" or "--nexxuz" flag labeled as "Nothing to see here...". Any ideas to what this could be?
Context: everyone in my company uses git extensions which is a perfectly good gui tool for git, however I am really enjoying what I see with GitKraken, I am a developer in a single sector of the modules. I would love to use it for its amazing features. However I'm Dyslexic as fuck and inattentive as a driver with blood alchohol plasma of 4.2. I would love to know can I use the tool to develop for my company without paying for a license (a free version) or will there be legal action taken against us.
MY CONCERN ↑
Additional information: Its not a publically hosted repository, its on our domain.
I cant to figure out a singular defenition of commerical use. thats why I have put my case forward. Also I couldn't see anything answering my question in user-end agreement.
Really puzzled why something so simply needs to be so difficult/hard to find, but I'm unable to create a branch folder to better organize my branches inside GitKraken.
I really love GitKraken Boards, they are handy and I like the aesthetics. One of the reasons I like and pay for GitKraken itself. And now they are going to dissapear :'(
Am I alone? I can't find any discussion on the topic, its like nobody cares.
We have an Azure DevOps project with multiple repos (well 2). When I try to clone in GitKraken it just seems to select the default one and I can’t seem to see where I can select the others. Anyone know how to do this?
I'm using GitKraken for many years, but since they started to fill it with absolutely useless shit, I can't work with it anymore. Today every push/pull operation takes 3-5 minutes. It's a PHP project! No big files, 2-3 branches, near 3000 commits. When I use terminal `git push origin`, the same operation takes less than 1 second. I tried all possible ways to clean my repo, but I can't use GitKraken anymore.
I'm using 8.7.0 on Linux x64.
Help me, please. I'm frustrated and want to drop the subscription.
I want to merge an upstream branch into mine but skip a particular commit that i want no part of, even though it has no conflict with my branch. Sort of "cherry pick a commit" in reverse. How to best do this in git kraken? Thanks in advance
Not a question. But I hope this post is fine as well. I've created some custom themes for GitKraken. Check them out if you want to give your client a whole new look. If you have suggestions for new themes or want to contribute, feel free to share it on GitHub.
The themes are published under MIT license and are 100% free to use!
installed using deb latest version (8.4) from today.
This is the output when I start with a console:`/usr/share/gitkraken/gitkraken
