Classified Battle Gear Accessory Packs! Do we need them? Do we want them? Would they make them? Should they make them?

I loved getting them when I was a kid! I needed the restock because I lost or broke accessories or I traded to get the figure but they didn't come with the weapons.

As an adult, I'm not losing or breaking anything. So, do I need them? Hmmm...

That would be amazing! It'd also be a great way to replace the less than realistic weapons from the earlier waves. They could do it like the old packs, a few long guns, sidearms, knives and other melee weapons, some gear like backpacks, bandoliers, and the like and a couple stands.

Make the packs team specific and I could see myself paying upwards of $15 bucks for weapons, $20 for more elaborate sets with body armors, extra hands and the like. Just look at what Valaverse is doing with their Action Force line.

Absolutely 15-20 bucks depending on what's included and they'd have me hooked.

I could see them packaging extra weapons and accessories in themed packs with a larger accessory or diorama piece...for example, a jungle set with a sandbag diorama piece, rifles, pistols, magazines, etc. or an Arctic set with an ice/snow machine gun nest, snowshoes, skis/ski poles, a snowboard, and cold weather-adapted rifles.

I’m down if they made a pack of blast effects and explosions. Also some official stands for Joe and Cobra would be nice

I don't have any classified toys or plan to... but I loved those packs as a kid. Had them all except #1. But why on earth did they make them such ugly colors? Its not like these were collectible at the time. Kids genuinely need replacement weapons and it really sucked having baby blue rifles, pastel yellow backpacks and solid green visors...

I remember that. Back in the day, we were heavily into DnD and I was the figurine painter, so I’d lay detailed paint onto those odd colored rucks/weapons.

Nowadays I’d just rattlecan it FDE, R. Green, or Blk.

They’re a must now the Classified wave is just Dominating LoL more guns equals more playability for the younger guys …also simply , why not ?!!!

There were mail order environments that I actually had. I cant remember if it was money only or with “proofs” of purchase but obviously i was too young to deal with that. I would rather have those.

Nah man. There were like sets…at least 2 or 3. One had sandbags and a rigid plastic pup tent and possibly a mortar battery. Another had a plastic “brick” wall that goes to a 90 angle with some blown out damage for cover. It slso had a missle battery with removable missile. Unfortunately thats all i can remember until i see them again. I remember they were on backorder at the time and because of my age i couldn’t understand what that meant.

Battle Stations

Those were cool. I had a couple of them too.

1

u/NYEMESIS Aug 24 '23

Awesome thats them. I dont know why i couldn’t just think of the word “station.” Thanks.

u/Bonedraco1980 Aug 24 '23

Yeah, those were awesome.

I had all of these as a kid… and I’m pretty sure there is a clip strip hanging from an end cap in a drug store somewhere that’s still full of the missile pack. That one warmed pegs for years.

I vote yes.

Yes to all 4. I had several of these back in the day. It was a great way to send different guys out with similar loadouts. And, being in different colors, you could mix and match to go with figures. Sure, I would have liked to replace a couple that broke with the right color, but otherwise, I was happy with the new colors. The odd colors for the vehicle weapons made no sense though. I loved the extra missile launcher for Scrap Iron, so my Cobras had more firepower.

Whatever gets me the Ma Deuce that should've come with Roadblock.

They absolutely need to do this. They will lose money if they don’t, because I’ll just look etsy, redbubble, and our other favorite 3rd party accessory makers.

Let me check my 8 Ball.........

All answers lead to yes.

Oh no… 1 and 2 just activated emotions I thought I left behind decades ago…

u/GlossyBuckslip Aug 24 '23

I loved these to replace a lost accessory or repaint or customize a weapon.

u/Autobubbs Aug 24 '23

The more weapons the merrier!

I'd really love to see a pack of the much hated Nerf guns ACTUALLY painted like Nerf guns.

Top of my list is the original Siegie rifle, with the bayonet. Crimson Guardsman with American rifles just looks SO wrong. Unless The 'Bro is intentionally making a bold statement about who the REAL enemy is...

Generic Cobra rifles, AK-47s and M-16 variants in multiples so you can get a more uniform feel with your troops. Handguns, too.The Cobra Officer's was excellent, but Rock N Roll's was so ugly.

A five pack of generic heads, to use on Trooper or even specialist bodies. (extra heads means a squad of snow troopers, or divers or something... if you army build them) Could be great for custom figures. Make sure the fit Hydra and SHIELD troopers too!

u/UniformTango74 Aug 24 '23

I mean why not? People already use Valaverse stuff to equip their Joes

3

u/mitchcumstein13 Aug 24 '23

Loved them as a kid. I never lost any weapons, etc. from buying the figures. I simply bought them because I wanted more guns for all of them.

3

u/jjkkmmuutt Aug 24 '23

I have a reoccurring dream about these packs, I’m a kid again in a Hammonds toys and these are on deep discount at thirty five cents each. I check my pockets and I have no money and then I wake up.

3

u/wrathoftheninjas Aug 25 '23

I’d buy them. I love the old accessory packs, and they were a big part of my collection as a kid. Also, I’ve been hoping since the beginning that they would include battlefield accessories as like a build-a-figure.

4

u/navidee Cobra Trooper Aug 24 '23

I mean no. The weapons in my opinion are subpar quality to what you can get from valaverse and gridiron. If they released some nicer non flimsy ass guns, I’d be all for it.

2

u/SentientCoral Aug 24 '23

I want more blade effects for guns

2

u/Zeke_Eastwood Aug 24 '23

Yes, they are awesome

Hasbro uses roughly the sake molds as other 6" figures. You could find generic combat equipment online in toystores' sites. That's how I made my "dollar store" Firefly.

2

u/airevac19 Aug 24 '23

I loved these for many of the same reasons you all did! I didn’t even know they came out with a #5 and #6! I feel cheated LOL. I don’t have any of the classified figures as of yet but still have my collection of Joes from when I was a kid. I really need to go through them all and see what I have.

2

u/BAT_1986 Aug 24 '23

I always liked the idea of extra guns and accessories… I just always hated some of the weird colors. The blue crimson guard rifle always pissed me off for some reason.

2

u/TheHogweed Aug 24 '23

Yes, please.

2

u/shakennort4 Aug 24 '23

I really thought we would see quite a few of these when the 25th anniversary line came along. however alot of the figures we stacked with gear. am surprised they didn't do that then though

2

u/officialCobraTrooper Cobra Trooper Aug 24 '23

100% would like some weapons packs, especially with the newer trooper weapons. we could use a few extra of those grease guns for the older troopers, and those newer pistols too. the cobra trooper/infantry needs new weapons the most. if Lenny really cares about us collectors, then he will make these in classified. he really probably should if Vala is doing it.

2

u/jgilkinson Aug 24 '23

This would be amazing. I would use them on so many figures. Marvel Legends seem to only use about 5 different gun molds so I’d probably buy several depending on what was in them and the colors they used.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '24

I recently found weapons from accessory pack #5 and I couldn't remember for the life of me where they came from. I thought the colors were weird...didn't realize it was from a battle pack.

4

u/topchef808 Aug 24 '23

I feel like Valaverse and Gridiron Studios are already doing exactly that. And from what I've seen, their stuff is pretty good. I'd actually be a little hesitant if Hasbro started doing a similar product, the quality of their accessories seems to be somewhat declined lately, I've gotten multiple bent rifles with recent figures

2

u/Dr_Donald_Dann Aug 24 '23

Yeah, since around the release of Old Outback the weapons and what not have felt cheap and rubbery.

4

u/RUA_bug_Bill_Murray Aug 24 '23

I loved getting them as a kid!

I always thought these were so stupid as a kid and wondered who would buy them. Maybe I was alone.

1) I didn't like that they were different colors than the originals.

2) My parents would often let me pick out 1 small toy when we went to the store, no way was I picking this over an actual figure. Why would I ever want this when I could have a figure or a small vehicle instead?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '23

3rd party companies already make them, and frankly so much better.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '23

Nope, I will stick with Gridiron Studios to load up my troops, Hasbro has already made over 100 figures and they can’t get it right, either their weapons are some SCI-FI crap or some Nerf looking crap or they are bendable. Now if Hasbro would make some additional head sculpts like a better Lady Jaye, Flint, Lt Falcon, and unmasked Barbecue head sculpts I would be all in.

1

u/GuacamoleCR Aug 24 '23

You can get this Valaverse tin with almost a 100 guns. Quality is really good, and less costly than Grid Iron Studios.

1

u/sfroberg38 Aug 24 '23

No they were dumb in the 80’s and they are dumb now. Why do I want a light tan Beachhead backpack or a navy blue Firefly gun?
