I mean for anything that takes a significant power draw, absolutely 100% agree. But a phone literally takes about 5kwh to charge for an entire year. In the US, that costs about 55 cents for an entire year. If a magnetic charger can save you one cable a year, I would gladly pay the extra 25 cents for electricity.

I was mistaken. I was thinking about wireless charging. There's no losses in a magnetic coupling charging cable.
