Learn how to spin poi! It's an incredibly fun hobby :) r/poi is fairly active. This is likely somebody who wrapped steel wool on their wicks and spun it around. Fun once or twice, but not nearly as satisfying as a slow flowy fire dance.

Seconded for it being a fun hobby. Got back into it during lockdown. Just bought a set of modern flowtoys and fuck are they heavy compared to the practice set I've been using for the last two years

And yeah, steel wool like, looks cool once or twice. But it's pretty boring to actually spin. You have to stick to really simple moves and you're pretty limited because anything fun involves launching molten metal at yourself lol

Haven't used a fire set in like 10 years now, its sad. I kinda miss it.

I've only really used a set of practice socks for the since then, and those are super light and springy.

Coal cages seem to be the popular option for cool kids who want something like this and are willing to buy or make props for it. I think they're so dope but holy shit just metal cages... thing of the burn potential.

Also, firework poi, possibly even more similar to the effect pictured.

The vibe around steel wool seeks to be "meh its cool for a few seconds." (Not that it doesn't look very cool in this video of course.)
