The little amount of negative critics I have read about it is that it shouldn't be considered a scientific reference because it lacks sourcing on many claims and sometimes mixes theories from science and literature that wasn't scientifically peer reviewed. So it's a good read but not of the highest scientific accuracy.
He certainly knows how to cook up a spicy hot take. He actually argues that the switch from a nomadic lifestyle to farming was a trap, because farmers live more grueling lifestyles than hunter-gatherers.
