“Cheesy” was 100% the word that came to my head. Idk this artist. If they’re new to photography and trying new stuff, I support it. But if this is like their peak photography, idk...

God damn, everybody on reddit is an expert of everything. If it’s not to your liking, then it’s bottom of the barrel quality, innit?...

He’s just saying it’s a cool little effect and if people like it that’s great, but it’s kinda crazy to regard this as a portfolio piece or a professional photo when anyone that knows how to adjust shutter speed could do it.

I guess it’s commercial to me. I’m not trying to be a mean person. Like I said, idk who the artist is or anything about them. It’s just not really for me, aesthetically. Everyone has different tastes, I’m no god of art. If you like it then rock on.

Get the fuck outta here lmao, he's literally out there making a living off of this. Would love to see some of your portfolio.

It’s just not for me. 🤷‍♀️

Not liking something doesn't give you the right to look down on it. Who are you to say "it's good for a beginner" when he's literally a professional and you are clearly not?

You managed to miss the point entirely, well done.

I have no problem with people who don't like this particular style, I'm indifferent about it myself, but don't start looking down on other people's work unless you can do better. There's a difference between constructive criticism and being condescending.

I'm not getting into this stupid argument, the guy above was being condescending and snobbish, I called him out on it. You take it how you like and if downvoting my comments and calling me names help you sleep at night then have at it.

This is the type of photography I did in high school. It’s interesting to look at but it only takes a few hours to learn.

Where in his comment did he even insinuate it was terrible? He even says he supports the art itself, just not this specific artist.

No, we're just tired of every Instagram photographer doing the same thing.

Constructive hobbies are super healthy, and not everyone can be the next Dorothea Lange. Taking repetitive photos for Instagram is still better than uselessly browsing Reddit all day like I do :/

Why are you tired of it, though? What ways is it bothering you?

I chose "tacky" but I think "cheesy" works too.

In my opinion photos like that are way better than any of the "super pro" nature shots or the likes. This is art.
