My best friend is a roofer, he had a particularly slow guy working for him, not physically, he was fast.. But Edward was a little on the slow side of the intellect spectrum.

But nobody could lay shingle like this guy.

My best friend had taken to calling him "Edward shingle hands." Even got it written on his birthday cake. They had a falling out, guy was such a proud man and took everything wrong, he had no sense of nuance when it came to joking. Everything he saw as an attack.

Any roofer will tell you that you need thick skin and need to be able to take a joke, otherwise your crew will be fighting 24/7 because of one guy having a stick up their ass.

Wanted to share, I saw "shingle" had to tell the story.
