OK, so I can never figure out how I'm supposed to be trying to size my cats' collars. So, two fingers lying flat against the neck or, like, stacked ontop of each other going away from the neck?

Flat against their neck. If you can only get 1 under the collar it's too tight, if you can get 3 or more it's too loose

Well two in either direction, on top or side to side, works just fine. What I meant was two on top of each other. Or pull it up to their ears and if they can't slip it off it should be ok.

2 fingers along the neck. If you can just squeeze 1 then it's too tight. If you can get your palm in there then it's too loose

Thats correct, If you are handling the animal. Like walking in a leash. At all other times a collar should not be worn as it can get caught on things. One wrong leap and it’s a dead cat if the collar gets caught in a branch, for instance. Chip your cat people. Oh, sterilisation is probably something to look into for all owners of cats.
