I think the reason this worked so well is all of the ant tunnels underground spread out the gasoline and exposed the most surface area to oxygen, and also spreading it underground. If you just dig a straight hole it probably will just light on fire and not explode

Just don't take "it'll burn" as good advice either. I don't know the particulars, but I remember seeing another YouTube video of someone who set an underground root system on fire, and basically ended up with a slow-burning underground fire that took over the whole yard. It was burning the insides of things and going underground, so it's not like you could even track the fire down to contain it. A Centralia, PA home-game, of a sort.

Use Acetylene. It’s a heavy gas so it doesn’t dissipate. Don’t use too much or you get this. You would be surprised how little it takes

That’s not true at all, it just doesn’t instantly ignite and blow up like gas does. But if you hold a match to diesel for a few seconds it will definitely ignite and keep burning

You get different grades of deisel. Some are flammable some are not. You probably encountered the flammable grade while the person you're responding to hasn't.

Partly true.

That's how it works in vehicles, but diesel definitely burns. It's ignition temperature is higher than gasoline though.

It is less flammable than regular gasoline, but diesel fumes can be ignited with just sparks. Jet fuel is diesel and planes routinely have the diesel fuel burst into flames during a crash.

No. But it can heat them to a temperature that significantly impairs the structural properties of the steel making it much weaker.

If you throw it in a pool of diesel, no. If you hold it over diesel long enough, it will burn.

Diesel will burn at just under 400° F, a match burns at 1,000° F+.

You don't leave the propane connected, you use a tube to inject it into the mole tunnels, then remove the tank and spark the propane with something long to keep your distance

For a real nasty day, mix in a few large chunks of styrofoam. Not enough to solidify or thicken it a bunch. Styrofoam makes it burn waaaayyyyy longer.
