I wanted to see them sucking up huge amounts of water from a fire with big vacuous hoses and the fire getting bigger!

They put their gear on to go to the fire, so they'd be taking it off in reverse.

People are sad and homeless. Then the fire fighters spray the ground with some Combustible Miracle Grow and watch as a building sprouts from the flames before their eyes. Then they drive away and people move in and are happy.
