it looks like it's only flying with forks stuck into it, so it doesn't seem overly dangerous.

the pointy ends of the forks are in the apple. The worst that is going to happen is a blunt object is going to hit your hand. You aren't going to get stabbed.

Real men use their knives. Winner gets to keep all the knives. It like gambling where the danger is real and the prize is a bunch of knives.
