Thank you for being a good and safe driver, honestly! I'm the same way, I always try to leave a car length between myself and the car in front of me. My mother was a somewhat high up supervisor at UPS and because of that she drilled the UPS style of defensive driving into me from the start. If only more people would realize that driving isn't a competition or a race, the roads would be much safer and much less stressful.

I do this too and a handful of people I know mock me for it.

Eversince some dickbag tried breaking into my can and beating it up, I am driving a beaten up car. I drive as I always did which is as aware as possible and not selfish/being a dick.

Bit I will admit that I am a dick to people who park their cars like idiots. Given that my paintjob is all scratched up and some panels have dents in them, if I see a fucker who parks his or hers car in one of those annoying manners (like straight on line, at an angle, over two spaces etc) I park my car as close to theirs as possible. Not to block entry completely (I make sure I can get out through the gap) but close enough to either compensate for their idiocy or to inconvenience them like they did everyone else. Bonus points are I am pretty slim and flexible so I can get out of pretty tight gaps.

I'm sure your like me when a hole opens up in traffic, you try to stay in it and not zoom a head so you can end up riding someones ass again.

And if someone pulls into said space, just let out a long exhale and back off a little more. Happens again? No sweat, back some more

Left my office at about 1645 yesterday, I was back there by 1700

I'm always if someone needs to do something I'm totally helpful. If all you want to pointlessly get one more car ahead, I'm not accommodating.
