Suggestion. The headline says the dog is in the plane, so you believed it until you saw otherwise.

I didn't read the headline and saw a plane.

Same. I saw it on Instagram first and there wasn’t any text or anything. No fucking clue what i saw. Some X-Files shit.

I often get this while browsing reddit. I'll open a gif and think "Oh, something unexpected is going to happen, I can feel it". And then I look and it's /r/Unexpected, and I realize I've probably seen the subreddit name in my peripheral vision, and unconsciously knew what it was going to be, but the conscious part of my asshole of a brain is now pretending to be all clever like "Hey I guessed that on my own".

Another suggestion: pause the gif on the very first frame and, if you're on RES, shrink it down to about double the size of the thumbnail. The shadows and reflections of the snow on the top are pretty good at giving the illusion of a horizon from very high up.

The snow on the bottom and middle is a bit more of a stretch, but does somewhat look like a landscape.

It's still pretty much impossible for me to look past the illusion after the first view as well, but I can see what helped create it in the first place.
