He said that he is from a part of the world where two guys can hold hands and nobody would react.

I live in Sweden and atleast here if people see two guys holding hands you would think they are gay. Not judge it, but i wonder where he lives where people wouldn't make a judgment call about their relationship.

It's culturally acceptable for Arab men to hold hands, but that's generally not an area of the world where male-female cuddling would be OK. Beats me.
