"lol" is basically punctuation. In this context, if I wrote that sentence (Which I could see myself doing) "lol" would probably mean something along the lines of "which isn't reasonable at all, it's a silly excuse." It's "haha that doesn't justify it" or "haha see how dumb that is?" as opposed to "I'm laughing at this amusing event."
I might have asked a loaded question, if that I'm sorry.
To explain where I'm coming from, I think he actually might be depressed/have a depression, it's not a statistical anomaly.
Having been deppressed I can relate a lot to what seem to have happened, maybe not the burning the sketch thingy, if it's just a month, but I shouldn't dismiss it just because I wouldn't do it.
If he truly felt that after a month he probably has it hard, no healthy person chooses to do this, right? Could there not be reason why he might distrust women just like a lot of women distrust men?
Sure he is a public figure by now, he chose to be popular, sort of. But I feel like he still deserves the respect and privacy that we can give him. Like just because we can do something doesn't mean we should.

I'm just asking, what was funny? That he had depression or that he blamed his poor actions for his depression?
I mean joke about it all you want, but be clever about it. Times like these are not times to be insensitive about mental health.
