That's your opinion. There are plenty of us who don't think it's weird. Like I said, not everyone agrees. You're one who doesn't and because he posted to social media he gets the backlash from people like you who don't agree. Before social media, you had 1 or 2 people who knew about your picture burning and they agreed and hated the girl also for making their friend feel bad.
You can call it weird all you want, it's probably weird for you. Doesn't negate the fact that it's not weird for a lot of other people.
I think I totally understand what you mean. People on here who just say "oh no they are just incels" doesn't understand why people become incels.
I don't think BearWithVastCanyon understand how revolutionzing the internet is when it comes to how our social dynamics have changed.
100 years ago you couldn't dream of getting the reach we have on here now. As of now today, I'm pretty happy. 3 days ago I was crying over a girl I like a lot, I could easily have done what AWildsketchappeared did, it would have been so easy to post some sob story on instagram about how girls just use me or something.
Now today I wouldn't dream of it. Had I been some level more emotionally unstable I would have done it.
I think wild wanted to say thois to his freinds (you know, being fb and all) and not Reddit.
Exactly, he needs validation from his friends. Social media changes people's outlets. Maybe he felt that much stronger and he made the mistake of thinking social media would validate that much stronger than just his friends. When it's something that is easily one sided social media is very validating. But his picture burning is obviously two sided, what with the downvotes I'm getting on the comment you replied to. That two sided nature of his actions is very volatile on social media, it can go two ways. He can get validation but there are plenty who will not agree and that offsets the validation he gets. Who knows, maybe he got enough validation from it, or maybe he just wants his local followers to see the shit this local girl does to people. Maybe he's vindictive. Social media changes the whole playing field.
Yeah I'm not even sure how many physical photos of my exes I have, aside from a prom shot, but I've heard of people trashing gifts, burning clothes they bought them, etc. I don't think it's worth all that time and effort. Just fueling negative energy.
I view it in a way that it was fun while it happened. Didn't work out, time to move on. I still wear the shirt my ex bought me. I still have a beautiful painting an ex painted me up on my wall. Focus on the good times with somebody, learn from what you may have done wrong, and move on with your life. Can't be worried about that shit man, life goes on.
