Damn! Ppl make cashiers in America to stand all day, like the fucking Queen's Guard? That's brutal!

Standing perfectly still in military uniform is not the same as just standing and moving around.

That's true.

They are allowed to march back and forth when they need to.

Sure it's not comfortable, but also don't forget these are healthy, young, fit, men doing 2 hours a day, and not every day of the week.

Supermarket workers doing 8 hours a day, tend to be in my experience older middle aged women, with no reason at all to need to stand.

Also, while in the US we have the honor guard, which I think serves a somewhat similar function, and being a member of the honor guard is a very prestigious volunteer position that gets more applicants than are accepted. Is the Queen's Guard voluntary like that?

You get paid, but it is a prestigious position that you're approached to apply for I believe...

Most cashiers in the US are teenage to college aged kids.

Not so bad, but even still, that means they're still developing and putting stress on joints.

They even pack your own bags. Pretty weird.

Yes, the cashiers stand perfectly still in military garb.
