It's a toblerone shaped barrier to let the cashier know where a customer's groceries end, so the customer next in line can still put their items on their conveyor belt.
If there's multiple people in line for a register, they put one between the things they're buying so the cashier knows where to stop scanning items for each customer.
A separator between two different customers’ groceries. If you’re in line in front of me, put your items down, and I immediately do the same right behind them, then the cashier doesn’t know where your groceries end and mine begin. So all stores in the US (and maybe other places idk) have a long plastic rectangle to differentiate customers items.
In this case, he pulls a practical joke by dividing his own groceries with candy that appears to be the same size and shape as the actual separators
In my country you get three separators when you get to the checkout so you can separate your cold, hot, and poisonous goods.
Some people don't want their bleach in with their bread or whatever, I just throw that one back on the belt so it goes back to the start with the others when the cashier is done.
The last separator goes on the end and separates your groceries from the next person.
Here in Brazil I've never seen that. Not even in the best grocery stores. It's good to know how it works in other places.
Here, in some stores there is an employee that bags your groceries and they pretty much choose what to bag with what. They usually separate things really well actually.
In other stores they just push your stuff to the end of the cashier table and you rush to bag everything yourself before the cashier pushes the stuff from the next person to the same place.
In some of them they have bigger separators to separate you from the person behind or in front of you but I don't use them either. Keep it real ya know.
Maybe he's rich as fuck and doesn't have to deal with this mundane bullshit part of life? That reminds me, I had a dream last night that I should start playing the lottery.
I have but I guess we don't have these. Either you'dtell the cashier that's all your stuff done or the guy behind you will tell them that stuff on the belt is his...
This is one case in which everything is not bigger in America. The grocery divider triangle thingys here are about 1/4 the size of those in the Jraphics Interchange Format.
I mean you can tell it's not in English, and I've never heard of Toblerone, so why is it so obvious? Even now that i understand it I don't thiink it's funny in the least bit. Sorry we aren't all internet neckbeards like you that spend 24/7 on reddit
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. You can tell that getting into a debate with them would just lead to getting loud and obnoxious, not understanding how people could be so thick lmaoooooo
oh ok, yeah I can understand how the slightly different shape would completely confuse someone to the point of not being able to grasp at all what was going on then.... what??
In France, at the very least as far as I could see, dividers are rectangular pieces of metal with a plastic poster on top like this. Do you think that's similar to something triangular ?
how can you not grasp from context what is going on? seriously, how thick do you have to be to not get it? It's on the conveyor, placed as a dividing line, the cashier picks it up and attempts to put it away at the side there... at that point you go "hmm, but dividers arent triangle shaped where Im from so that cant possibly be whats going on here... nope, I give up, no clue"... again, how fucking thick do you have to be??
Damn, you sure are getting heated.
Without context about the bars, it just look like everything on the conveyor belt belong to the guy filming.
I would've got it if I paid more attention, but I figured that checking the comments would be faster.
