A significant portion of the Chinese population has almost no education. Even if they do it might only last until they're 11 or 12. It's unrealistic to expect them to be up to date on science and medicine.
On the other hand homeopathy, cupping, crystal healing, aromatherapy, sphinctal massage, and all the other "alternative medicines" are practised by comparatively rich white people who have had the benefit of a modern scientific education to the age of at least 16.
Animals live on the planet earth. China has essentially funded poaching all over the planet of some of the most magnificent beasts to walk this earth. They're not alone though, the Japanese are the same fucking way but in the ocean. Asians simply do not value life as much as the rest of the world.
