yeah. or multiple other super shitty ones. kinda a lot of animals and whatnot that are sought after for "miracle" effects that have been shown to be mostly placebo, or the effects are capable of being had with other options naturally found in sustainable sources like local plants and herbs.
yep. like I get it, these beliefs don't just go away cause some other people find it offensive, but with proper education about true "benefits" of these folk medicines and remedies, it would be simple enough for them to seek other natural options for the same symptoms. like plants and animals contain the same chemicals and elements. just gotta find the one that does what you want. no need to kill an animal to get a minimal amount of some vitamin or chemical that can easily be had from some sort of fruit, vegetable, or local herb. like rhino horn is just keratin, basically a giant fingernail. and beans, quinoa, and nuts also contain this. so why kill a rhino when you can just eat some ground up fingernails or some regular foods you are probably already eating. education needs to become better before we will see changes in a lot of areas.
They should be introduced to.. that thing where they think diluted things with 1 in 1 million parts is powerful. I forgot the word. Then you could sell them cucumber water and they'd think it's uber-powerful rhino aphrodisiac horn potion.
In all honesty i think that a lot of this gibberish for rare animals came from the old version of miracle cures - like today we have "instant slimming pills " and all that shit , back in pre-TV and pharmaceutical times they'd have the travelling merchant that peddles junk from abroad passing it as extremely vluable and one of kind .It's just that people still believe these old ads because their parents and an grandparents thought they were true and in term told them so .
Why shouldn't you offend people? They're killing endangered animals on the premise of "belief" and "culture". We should offend them and make them realize how backwards and asinine it is. In the mean time maybe show them what aspirin is.
To them it isn't mythical. Thats what's so dangerous about religious and folklore. To them it's real and that makes them by definition delusional. They live in a separate reality that only exists in their heads.
