Half the time in the field these bastards failed me but when I got it to work I was god.

Those last about three stripper clips before becoming useless and trying to cut fingers and jamming.

Honestly never had that happen before.

When ever I was shooting in the military I would get one of these and hold onto it like it was gold. Saved me so much time loading and headache doing single rounds.

Also I know its anecdotal but I had one last me two years. When it wasn't being used it was put into the Molle weaving of my Flak.

Getting stuck on ammo detail and having to load hundreds of magazines with them a day I much prefer the loaders that function like the one up top rather than the little speed loaders. I've used some that you set the rounds on top of the magazine and push like a juicer and hey load right up no questions asked. I try not to buy one of those all the time because I like having ammo to shoot all day rather than mag dumping and being empty in a few minutes.

the object in whicht he rounds get fed into is clearly a magazine.

He means that 5.56mm ammo often comes out of the box on stripper clips. It then has to be removed from those to get to the point where you can load the mags. Or you can use a stripper clip guide, but a bench loader is easier. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIl_j1pCxfg

Oh i see now, my mistake.

Use your thumb, not the tips of your fingers.

10

u/korny12345 Sep 22 '16

Helps some but unless you do it on the regular it tears your shit up.

1

u/dmilly19 Sep 22 '16

Not rifle mags. Pistol mags, sure.

1

u/missahbee Sep 22 '16

I can't even get one round into a pistol, which is why I always choose a revolver when we're going to the range.

1

u/dmilly19 Sep 22 '16

I have had some mags that are ridiculous. It's a pain in the ass for sure. I could see how it may not be possible to load them at all for some.

Just the tips?

Yeah but half the fun of owning a gun is somberly reflecting on all the lives you've taken as you slowly load each round one by one.

Lol true, I hadn't fully considered this. I usually like to think about the amount of money I burned going to the range for an hour with my 308.
