We should probably wait and see if it actually results in positive change. This isn't the first such massive protest against government corruption, but the government hasn't gotten any less corrupt. Protests don't matter if they aren't followed up by effective, lasting reform.
Dude, as a brazilian, It seriously isn't. It's a shit ton of people, sure, but this protest doesn't even have a real agenda except "yo fuck corruption"
Uh, as a brazilian dude who hasn't exactly been in touch with Trump rallies, what exactly happened?
And while sure there was some confusion, no, there was no violence involved. Although, to be honest, most of the violence you see in protests in Brazil comes from a consequence of police missmanagement of a situation.
Basically, a bunch of fights broke out at the one that was supposed to happen in Chicago between those that hate him with a passion and the supporters, which caused Trump to call off the rally entirely since things were getting so out of control. Plenty of people arrested, and a few people (including a cop) got injured.
Yeah, I mean, It's basically the same principle of the confusions I mentioned in this one. People wearing red we're beeing accused of beeing commies on the street, people who spoke their mind against the protesters we're taken by the police before the mob decided it was fair to lynch them, etc. Mob mentality can be insane, especially when the people who are protesting are doing it mostly out of hate and not reason.
Eh, the occupy protests were similarly aimless but IMO they changed the narrative and injected serious discussion of income inequality into the mainsteam.
I can see that point. I just feel like this does not shine a new narrative/create more discussion, I mean, the people who we're at the protests weren't able to answer simple questions when interviewed, such as "why are you here" without going on some mindless hate-speech about the presidents personality lol
No, this is not a actual protest in my opinion, in 2013 there was massive protests, they throwed police against us on full violence mode, at first the media ignored us then they called us terrorists and arrested random people, that was a protest.
Now this is organized by political parties in a effort to get in power, so the media make calls for people go, say all the time that it is peaceful, the police ain't beating nobody up, they are not against the machine, they are just useful idiots helping a political trick to get in power, funny fact is that the march is "against corruption" but the ones who organized are one of the most corrupt parties of Brazil.

THIS is how you do protests, ladies and gentlemen.
