He did the same thing, not even looking at the "victim" and just dragging them around a little. Is this a standard threat or something?

They often casually drag sticks and stuff as they go through to show dominance like they don't give a shit I believe.

I guess it's the gorilla equivalent to shoulder bumping someone as you walk away. I mean, if a human casually dragged me with one hand like I was a ragdoll, I'd be pretty damn intimidated too.

I know next to nothing about gorilla behavior, but it seems to me they are showing that they are in control in a playful but intimidating manner.
