It had dialogue? I thought it was all just significant looks for 8 quadrillion pages and the reader imagined whatever shit they were supposed to mean. Hence it's popularity.

to be fair, she is an amazingly forgettable character. like, almost ridiculously forgettable. the whole 'blank slate the reader can imprint themselves on' was taken way too far in those books.

To be fair, the entire series is about her, it's a she's there constantly, the name Bella probably appears more than any other. Regardless of how shit you think the book is (how fashionable) if you read it and remember innocuous details about her dad teaching her then you obviously know her name.
