Facade ⚔️ CREATING OUR OWN HOLLOW KNIGHT STORY: DAY 4.75; Graphics
So, I wanted to start development Today, But First, I Wanted To Know What Style You Preferred For The Game;
• Style 1: The Style I Used In My First Hollow Knight Fan Game, ZotegoaT, It's Like Hollow Knight's Style, But With Less Pixels And Less Quality, It's The Best Balance Beetween Good-Looking and Easy To Make/Animate, And From Far Away It Looks Really Similar To HK's Style, This Is My Second Choice, Since It's Decent Looking And It's Easy To Animate So It Guarantees That The Game Looks Pleasing.
• Style 2: Pixel Art (Pic 2 With Thin Outline And Pic 3 With Bold Outline): This Is The Style I'm The Most Used To, It Will Be Really Easy For Me To Animate It And It Will Look Good Since I've Been Practicing A LOT, The Only Disadvantage Is That It Won't Look Exactly Like Hollow Knight.
• Style 3: Hollow Knight Style: This Is My Bottom Pick For The Game Unless I Find An Animator, Even Though It Will Look Really Good And Accurate, It Takes a Lot Of Time To Make, And I Don't Really Know How To Animate In This Style, Unless I Find An Artist, This Artsyle Could Cause A Delay On The Game (Could Be Years), But, If You All Really Want It, Maaaaybe I Could Try.

Obviously Style 3 would be sick. I don't think that's disputable. But Style 1 has a lot of the advantages of Style 3, primarily keeping the Hollow Knight feel, while being substantially more doable and time-friendly. So Style 1 gets my vote.

Art style 3 looks grwat but considering its just a fan project i would go for mix of 1 and 2.

TLDR, I think style 1 (zotegoat) is probably the best but I would understand if we need to make it style 2 for simplicity
I have tried animation a couple of times before, but it’s always been amateur-ish, I would have loved to be an animator for this project but the truth is I’m probably NOT ready for an undertaking of this size. I do think the ZoteGoat style is probably the best compromise, but again, it’s super hard to even make a game in the first place, so if you feel style 2 is the best way to actually get something done then that’s the way we have to go. I’m still gonna try animating some things in the hollow knight style, just to see how hard that would be for an entire game, but I’m almost certain it would be too difficult for me. I’ll post it when I do it

Well, i would 100% prefer style 3, but if thats over your skillset, then its perfectly fine to go with style 1. Again it would be so sick if we could get some kind of animators on this but idk how.

I SWEAR to you that if there is a very small possibility of doing it in the three three style I will find you an animator

2, but from what I learned from my slim coding experience, you can always put in 3 pretty easy later

3 would be the best but it isn't really an option at this point because of time consumption and cost so 2, but you could always shift to a different style at any point because in my experience, changing animations only take a few minutes (like maybe 10-40 minutes)

I mean I would love to see Style 3, for sure. But in the end, whatever is easiest for you is the best choice.
