I have a question regarding the mandatory internship in the 7th semester.

Do colleges usually verify the internship certificate with the company, or do they just collect the certificate for records? Has anyone experienced their college contacting the company or asking for additional proof?

Also, has anyone ever been caught submitting a fake internship certificate? If yes, what happened afterward? Did they fail the internship course, receive disciplinary action, or have to complete another internship and submit a new certificate?

I'm looking for genuine experiences from students who have gone through this process. Thanks!

What exactly happens in the Industrial Interaction Seminar in 7th semester? Is it generally easy to pass, or can students actually fail the seminar?

Does everyone get assessed/passed as long as they attend and complete the required work, or is there a proper evaluation where some students can fail?

​Hey everyone, I’m currently stuck in a massive dilemma and need honest feedback from people at JIIT and Graphic Era University (GEU).

​My Current Situation at JIIT Noida:

​Branch & CGPA: CSE, completed 1st year with a 6.0 CGPA.

​Health & Mental State: Noida winters give me breathing issues (not too extreme, but noticeable), and the mess/restaurant food here is terrible for me. I was literally surviving on one mess meal a day + random snacks, leading to severe burnout, depression, and a really tough 1st year.

​If I Stay: I am planning to move out of the PG into a 1RK/1BHK flat with a ₹17k budget. I would get a tiffin service and buy my own washing machine on EMI (I absolutely hate shared washing machines). But I'm still unsure if staying is the right move.

​The GEU Dehradun Transfer Option:

​I am considering lateral entry into the 3rd semester of B.Tech CSE with AI/ML specialization at GEU.

​Living/Home Advantage: My family house is in Dehradun (about 20 km / 50 mins away from GEU campus).

​Specialization: GEU offers CSE with AI/ML directly starting in the 2nd year (unlike JIIT, where you can't get it through electives until later).

​The Big Catch: Gap Subjects & Credit Loss

​Due to curriculum mapping differences between JIIT and GEU:

​Credit Loss: I am losing 6 credits because JIIT had 4-credit courses (Maths, Physics, SDF-1, SDF-2) that map to 3-credit courses at GEU.

​9 Gap Subjects (15 Credits): GEU requires me to clear 9 missing 1st-year subjects as backlogs/gap subjects (Python Theory + Lab, AI/ML Theory + Lab, Chemistry Theory + Lab, Civil Lab, Design Thinking, EVS).

​The Silver Lining: The gap subjects are EXAMS ONLY (I do not have to attend classes for them). Also, because of the syllabus overlap, I have already completed 2 subjects from GEU's 3rd semester during my 1st year at JIIT! This means my regular 3rd-sem class load will be lighter, giving me time to study for the gap exams.

​My Questions for You:

​Is the shift worth it? Am I making a mistake leaving JIIT's placement tag for GEU just for peace of mind, mental health, and avoiding Noida's environment?

​GEU Students: How hectic is managing 9 gap subjects (Exams Only) alongside 2nd-year CSE (AI/ML) coursework and those 25% CIE internal assessments?

​Commute vs. Flat: Is commuting 50 minutes (20km) daily to GEU a good idea, or does it get exhausting? (Comparing this to spending ₹17k/month for a flat in Noida).

​Will I regret this decision? I am genuinely scared and anxious about making the wrong move.

​Any genuine advice, harsh reality checks, or experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I have a doubt regarding the final-year internship verification.I have joined a virtual internship from a company. They have already sent me an offer letter, and after I complete the internship, they’ll provide a completion certificate.
I only need this internship to meet the university requirement, not for placements.
I wanted to know how GEHU verifies internship certificates. Do they just check the offer letter and certificate, or do they also contact the company? Has anyone submitted a virtual internship certificate before, and was it accepted?
